Melbourne Show Review/Setlist

Fantastic show. Played for an hour plus encore. And the extended guitar solos J took were awesome. The selection of songs spanned his entire career. it was great to hear ‘freak scene’ early in the set. I love that loop machine he played with. Anyone got a copy of the setlist they can post? I don’t remember the titles or all of the songs so anybody can post the setlist I’d appreciate it. Love to hear others review of the show too!

I hope you saw the latest news about that there might be another J Mascis show in Melbourne on May 12th … I guess it’s worth to call the club to see if it’s real

I agree, a setlist of the Australian shows (I think the setlist varies a bit in these shows, but not totally), and other Melbourne reviews would be great.

J is indeed playing in Melbourne tonight

May 12 (Mon):The Evelyn Hotel

Tickets are only available at the door for $26

Doors open at 8:30pm

According to the venue J will be on from 10:15pm

I don’t remember the setlist but I can help with listing the definite songs I knew he played.

Started with Freedom. After that, in a rough order, I know he played…
Freakscene, If That’s How It’s Gonna Be, Set Us Free, Ammaring, Get Me, Everybody Lets Me Down
And the encore was The Wagon & Repulsion.
That’s about half the songs he played.

I’ll try and remember the setlist for tonight’s show.

Sounds pretty similar to the Sydney setlist. Started off with someone said then thumb, freakscene, sameday ….. all those songs you mentioned in the middle plus quest, free so free, repulsion, flying cloud
and the encore was not you again and the wagon.
I was gonna write it down as the songs were played but i forgot a pen
