Just to dot a few words: Very good show last night in Montreal. Will most probably add more lengthy review when able…

OK, the show was held at La Sala Rosa, on Sunday May 12th, and the only bad thing I can say about it was that the room was too smokey. Otherwise, the bands were great. Crackpot are an excellent and dedicated bunch of musicians and they have an album coming out soon. I guess they play Zappa influenced/ garage/ style (please correct me if I’m wrong). I was pleased immediately after hearing their first song. Dälek are from New Jersey and their set-up consisted of a portable work-station and mixer/DJ tables along with vocals promoting a style I can only term as (please don’t hurt me for saying this) something called Apocalyptic Hip-Hop–quite excellent. Mike Watt and The Second men were also in tip-top shape. I can’t go into details about what songs they played because I went to the show primarily out of curiosity. (Again, please don’t hurt me…) So, I am sorry for that.

Yes, I hope they will be opening up for artists on the commercial curcuit soon. I think they are ready for it. I didn’t think the small club stage suited their sound.
