Milwaukee – July 22

I live in Montreal and will be in Chicago later this week. I know they’re playing there on Sunday with a bunch of other bands but tickets are kind of pricey and it seems like they’ll have to play a rushed set.

All this to say I’d much rather catch their concert in Milwaukee Friday night. Is there anyone in Chicago that’s driving down to that concert (coming back the same evening) and that would be willing to take an extra passenger? I can meet you somewhere and pay my share for gas. -JM

I can’t drive you, but if you get to Milwaukee and are 21, It’s free ticket Friday at the venue. You can get free admission with a coupon, you can find em all over this city. All you have to do is drink two drinks at some point. That will run you about $8, but that’s way less money than my tickets cost.

Theres a rumor out there about another show in Chicago, check back before you leave town to make sure…

word on the street/from the tour bus is that they’re going to play a 2nd show at the Metro on Sunday night.

If I find out anything this week, I’ll be sure to let y’all know.

As for the $8 coupon to get into the show, that sounds almost too good to be true. Where could I get such a coupon and why do people bother buying real tickets in the first place if you can get in for cheaper?

I scanned the "coupon", I’m trying to get it to show up in my post. Either way, they are not numbered, and I could make copies if I get some red paper. Well I don’t know how to show you a bigger picture than what the image of my avatar is. I could email it to you if you like.

Those tickets you guys you guys are talking about dont get you in for free they just knock off a couple bucks off the ticket price plus you get two free drinks. I have been to the rave many times and they hand those tickets out out after every show. i was once tricked into buying some of those tickets and ive learned my lesson.

Two things:

1. I’m not saying you are wrong, I just thought you showed that ticket, and then paid for at least two drink vouchers, and that was all.

2. Do you know what’s up with the pre-show party? It looks like there are going to be 6 bands playing in the rave bar before the opening bands for dino start. Are all of the bands in the rave bar? I hope not. I was going to show up super early, but I don’t want to have to sit through 6 extra bands to get a front row spot if i don’t have to.

for anyone that cares, dinosaur jr is in the actual rave, the pre-show party bands are in the rave bar. this is good news for anyone that is showing up before 6pm.

If u get there early they usually dont let people into the rave until 7 so either sit through the bands or find something else to do before then

I’m just going to go to the rave bar at 6 and sit by the door that goes to the actual rave. It would be nice to see a whole bunch of people there ahead of me, but from what I’m getting from people who went to other shows, I’ll probably end up being somewhere near the front if I’m there at 6. What time do you usually show up for rave shows (I guess it depend on the band)?

When I went to the Sno core tour at The Rave i was expecting there to be alot of people since we got there so late. there was barely any people watching the pre show so we walked by and got pretty close to the front. by the time Chevelle took the stage the place was packed and could barely move. I dont know if its gonna be the same for Dinosaur Jr. but alot of the people dont show up until later.
