No MC5…Wayne Kramer & Fred Sonic Smith guitar gods are passed over

Wonder if Mojo ever paid J for that Mudhoney review he did for them, you’d think they’d include at least one Dinosaur Jr :!:

Public Image metal box one of the greatest guitar albums…

In their top 100 of guitarists from couple of years ago J. was number 29……. (and Wayne Kramer is at 61) 8)

You can find that list here.

Scientists will have quite a job comparing the two lists (guitarists / albums / songs)

oops ! missed this topic the 1st time round … thanks VF for pointing it out … :D

                      i guess it’s all a matter of opinion …

i bet the panel had a difficult time limiting themselves to just 100 albums …

as for the difference in lists … it looks like the guitarist list was compiled 7 years ago, so maybe they have different writers/editors w/different tastes now ?

These lists are always probematic because there’s a fair amount of subjectivity involved. I don’t really think they should include really recent stuff (i.e. Elephant). Some time needs to pass before an album can separated from the hype surrounding it and to see if it has aged well.

elephant is like the third best ‘stripes album.
