More info on Ron Asheton playing with the fog

Former Stooges bassist/guitarist Ron Asheton is to join J Mascis and the Fog for an appearance at this year’s South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas. Asheton will join Mascis, bassist Mike Watt and drummer George Berz for a show at Emo’s on 15th March.

J Mascis and the Fog have been playing several Stooges covers at shows during their recent tours and Mascis and Watt played a full set of Stooges songs in New York last year. It is rumoured that Asheton may remain with the band for a series of shows tentatively scheduled for the period 26th March to 21st April. The band are currently in Japan and will head to Australia next week before returning to the US in the first week of March.

Hey,

You know I never ever thought I would say this but Texas sounds like it would be a pretty cool place to be in March. Interested in the rest of the shows as well….please come back to Minneapolis..that would be so cool. Just picked up a CD of one of Ashetons bands post Stooges, Destroy All Monsters/Bored, had some stuff on vinyl but this is pretty great stuff to have on disc!! Meet the Creeper, November 22, Nobody Knows are amazing tunes.

ps only meant texas is usually Hot Hot Hot not cool as in freezing like it is where I am…did not mean anything nasty about texas
