Most overrated Dinosaur Jr songs?

Talking about overrated dino songs seems kind of weird but I’ll play.

Feel The Pain has to be it. It was their biggest single and not even in their top 100 songs in my opinion.

Freak Scene may get played a lot but I’ll never get sick of it, all things considered it may be their best song (though, not my favorite).

Start Choppin’ – no way. It’s one of the most underrated singles of the 90’s.

I’ll throw in Almost Ready. I like it, get that it sort of sounds more like their old stuff than anything else on Beyond but just don’t think it’s that strong of a song. Everyone mentions this track when they talk about Beyond but it seems a little too basic and boring for me.

I don’t think any of their songs are that overrated. Its not like any of them were big hits which is a good thing. Got to say my favorite song by them is the Lung overrated or not.

Freak Scene – a great song that I’ve heard too much.
Just Like Heaven – this was awesome when it first came out; now I wouldn’t mind if I never heard it again.
Feel The Pain – I like this one way more than I did when it was new, but both lyrrically andd musically it doesn’t do much for me.

Drawerings – I wouldn’t have immediately thought of this one (and have never heard it specifically rated high enough to qualify as ‘overrated’), but I do agree that this sounds a little too much like Get Me.

Both amazing songs, but overrated when I compare them to the rest of the Dino catalogue.

calling any dino song over rated is a mighty claim in its own.

under rated bands cant have over rated songs. this has got to be the greatest band in the world, so unique and just plain fun to listen to. i cant claim to not like any song.

yes, including feel the pain.

I am agree with you but Freak Scene more than Feel The Pain.

"Out There" is one of the most beautiful songs they have done in my opinion. I definitely don’t class any of Dinosaur Jnr as overrated. I think that’s the true beauty of Dinosaur Jnr tbf
To me it is legendary/a classic because I can relate to it so well and I think it engages everyone on a deep level if they have been through a bad relationship. But the most important thing about Dino is the guitar work that just makes us all cream in our pants

That’s it….. it seems everybody likes it for the soloing, nothing else. That’s why it annoys me. I just don’t like it at all.

The music in MM is really good. I love the main riff. And the bridge is cool. But that’s my least favorite song on Dinosaur easily.
