      Gastr Del Sol.

Speaking of Gurbbs, how about a Bitch Magnet and Bastro reunion :) What happened to Gastr?O`Rourke did`nt show up when they were about to tour with the Red Krayola was the story I heard.

Yeah I loved Bitch Magnet and Bastro. What happened with Gastr? I read an interview with Grubbs and he more or less said that what happened was private and personal and not open to discussion. So who Knows? Assuming they’re both straight, I’m guessing maybe women trouble. If they’re not, maybe men trouble. What else could be so private? Obviously, any amount of things, I guess. personal (and especially creative) relationships are so complex .Whatever, it’s a shame.

Bitch Magnet were wicked.Somewhat forgotten and really need to be reissued.Yeah Seam were great.I got at least one FS member around here into them(Another Girl… ;)) The Problem With Me is my fave album by them.Soo Young has(or had)a recent band called Ee which I have`nt heard but they opened for J once a few years ago.

The Problem with Me is my favourite, too. Are You Driving Me Crazy is great, too. such rich solos in that album.

It would be great if Greg Sage would get off his ass and go on tour with a Wipers lineup, but he seems like a cranky, reclusive guy who seldom leaves the house.

Too ("TWO") many songwriters in one band. There was a lot of tension between O’Rourke & Grubbs by the end. I read an O’Rourke interview where he said that he had to finish off engineering and producing the last Gastr album all by himself after Grubbs laid down his parts and then decided to drop out. I think they’re still not on speaking terms with each other. :-

well, it seems that dreams come true after all.
First Dinosaur JR and now I’m going to see The didjits and Scratch Acid in Chicago ;)

I’m pretty sure the Didjits & Scratch Acid shows are one-offs at a fest called the Hideout Block Party as part the Touch & Go 20th Anniv. party. Shellac is also playing. Maybe we’ll get a Rapeman song or two as well :o

i don’t know if they officially "broke up", or what the deal was…but i would love to see the afghan whigs play a show (never had the pleasure). as for the meat puppets….that’s great news! (although i thought chris was still in jail?) i saw them a few times in the late 80s-early 90s and they fucking tore it up! (see my post in the magic moments in music thread). other original lineups i’d like to see: talking heads, roxy music (w/eno), VU, the mekons, some incarnation of the lemonheads, MBV, janes addiction (saw them in ’91 w/rollins and it rocked……..hard), jesus and mary chain……….i could go on and on…

someone told me that the original camper van beethoven have been out on the road…that would be great. i saw them play at the student union at PSU back in ’89 and it was a hoot.

and finally……in the "when hell freezes over" category: husker du (it’ll never happen), (i suppose roxy music should be in this category as well) and uncle tupelo (as much as i love tweedy, jay was definitely writing much better songs back then)

did anyone catch any of the pixies reunion shows? i woulda loved that…

All hail the folks who listed Pavement ! Especially if:
                            a) they all really want it, monetary reasons are never a good driving force when it comes to music(just look at kiss.) However, I´m not too worried that this´ll be the case if a reunion is to happen, reason being that I think Malkmus is doing ok money wise, so I don´t think he´ll be persuaded by it.
                            b) Gary Young must be a part of the package. He is by far the best paved drummer. I´m not saying this to rule out westie though, he´d be in there too.

Neutral Milk Hotel. That would be as good as porn & pizza night with you know who.

And Kevin Shields definetely needs to pull MBV back together again.

I sure wouldn’t mind seeing Die Kreuzen again. Opening for Swervedriver, maybe?
