so far, the pedals i own are as follows:
Proco Rat 2
Dunlop Wah (shit, but it does enough)
Boss DD-6 DelayI’m building up my arsenal, and have about enough cash for one more, reasonably priced pedal. But I can’t decide.
– I don’t use amp distortion, and another Rat so that I have 1 for crunchier, softer OD and another for heavier stuff, would be useful.
– The Boss Tuner stomp boxes are quite attractive, especially how I could use one as a cutoff.
– However, I also want something to expand my palette a bit, a filter pedal. Small Clone and Small Stone come to mind, but I can’t even decide which one of them I’d want, let alone if I reeeally need a filter.
If anyone could give me any kind of advice, at all, it would be great.
June 15, 2007 at 4:41 pm #130186Some of those new EH Nano pedals are cool, and don’t cost a fortune. They may have a small clone or small stone version, might be worth checking out.
June 15, 2007 at 7:08 pm #130187Get a Real McCoy Wah. See my thread.
June 16, 2007 at 1:48 am #130188hey spoksie, your pedal now just like my own have but for distort pedal i have sovtek muff,i think we should get small stone for shifter.thats my opinion but i have one comments about electro harmnix pedal is not good, but im not sure ,they recommend me to buy a zvex pedal but it price more expensive but its sound cool

June 16, 2007 at 12:33 pm #130191Forget the Small Stone… get an MXR Phase 90, open it up, and cut out R28. Best phaser sound you’ll find, and much more reliable than the Small Stone. Not to mention half the size, and less money!
June 16, 2007 at 2:02 pm #130192Less money? They’re about 20+ list price here. Yeah but i think its a better choice.
June 16, 2007 at 2:59 pm #130193Hmmm… I just took a look on MF, and the Small Stone goes for $82… the MXR for $69.
Are you looking at the "Custom Shop Script" MXR? That’s going for $99… but don’t be fooled into buying that… if you buy the $69 "Block logo" version, and remove R28, you’ll have essentially the same sound.
Also an amazing rip-off is the $129 "EVH" Phase 90… which simply has a switch to add or remove R28. If anyone is interested in having that option, I can tell you haw to do it to the regular P90 for about $3.
June 16, 2007 at 4:05 pm #130194No no no, EHX tax in the netherlands is smaller than MXR tax. So the EHX’s stay at retail price and MXR’s go up for about 20 euros more. My blue box was like a 100 euros while the list price is like 80. Its frustrating.
June 18, 2007 at 3:44 am #130195you know what?im actually from Malaysia,i order my sovtek muff for rm300+shipping,i dont even care about money as long the pedal i want is good.i got my blue box pedal for rm400,small clone rm250,need to work hard to spend money, right now i spend money for zvex fuzz factory and it cost rm900,huh crazy, but its reality,in Malaysia,we dont have any distributor for all that pedal so i just get it in internet only, you guys so lucky to get all pedal in a cheap price!
August 9, 2007 at 7:03 pm #130196here’s a cheap and cool suggestion. Get a Boss Super Overdrive SD-1. It is a really versatile od/distortion that can cover everything from Blues to near metal. It’s strength is a really good, natural sounding overdrive that can be used a booster for solo work. It seems to cut through the mix well. Although I am a huge muff fan, the only way I could use it live and have it work in every club(we don’t always have control over the sound) was to dime it and that sound is not always grreat depending on the room. This SD-1 cuts on every stage and always leaps out of the mix. No washout. You can get them for like $30 and they are availble in just about every town. Face it, we’re not all J and don’t have techs looking after every piece of gear. That’s why sometimes I think it’s better to be bale to pedlas that are drop in replacements from Seattle to NY than soe piece of acrhaic gear that can’t be fixed easily. Worls well w/ a Rat and evn better with an eh hottubes(new version)
