Myspace page

I broke down and created a Myspace page for myself. I know there are some on here who dislike myspace, but to those have a page, I am looking for friends. My URL is http://www.myspace.com/spyingonbirds It is still pretty new and I haven’t had the chance to pretty it up with HTML yet, so for now its pretty generic. Don’t hold it against me.

I?ve never had a myspace page, and I?m not sure exactly what it is. A blogging community ?
The pages seem rather chaotic, at best, and I?m having trouble navigating them. In that aspect I really like yours, since it?s not filled with weird backgrounds, crappy music, and text all over the place.
Please enlighten me.

I guess its just a way to keep in touch with and meet like minded people. You can share photos, music, videos, and messages. I hear its great for networking, and there are a lot of cool indie bands that you can get in touch with who don’t have the best distribution. Its cool to be considered a friend of one of your favorite bands too, Like when the Pixies added me to their friend list I said, "Wow, this monkey’s gone to heaven".

For good reason, when I had an office job 2 years ago, I would sometimes spend hours doing nothing but myspace instead of work. I wonder why that small company closed down?

Yeah good thing there are other things to do like this board, youtube, and freesofree during work hours.

OK, so I’m a newbie with myspace but it seems pretty cool so far. Typically I’m the dork finding my favorite bands and asking them to be my friend on myspace. Why would they ask me?

Well yesterday I’m checking my email and I see a request for friendship from a Mike Johnson. I’m thinking no fucking way, it must be a different Mike Johnson. Since I couldn’t check myspace at work (its blocked here) I had to wait to get home to see. Lo and behold it was the Mike Johnson, the one from Dinosaur Jr and all those rad Mark Lanegan records. Man I couldn’t believe it. Surely I added him to my friend list, I mean how fucking cool is that?

Anyways thought I would share the story.
