I’m trying to work out a mix for a guy at work. He always listens to pseudo punk music, stuff like Blink 182. So I’ve decided to put together a mix of Good punk for him
So far I’ve got-
Ever Fallen in Love-Buzzcocks
I’m the One-The Descendents
Marquee Moon-Televsion
MTV get off the Air-Dead Kennedys (possibly)Anybody else got some good Ideers? The guys pretty christian, so I’m trying to stay away from the Really crazy stuff.
December 27, 2001 at 4:51 pm #83507Be sure to include some Ramones stuff!!!!
Dead Boys – Sonic Reducer
Clash – White riot
Richard Hell – Blank generation
the Saints – I’m stranded
the Ruts – Babylon’s burning….and so on…..
December 28, 2001 at 11:44 am #83508den buck has some good suggestions.
throw in some LA stuff like X,Germs,Weirdos, etc. and NYC stuff like Johnny Thunders,Ramones of course.Buzzcocks are a good choice for brit stuff, add The Damned, old Clash as db mentioned.
Radio Birdman would be cool in there as well for Oz stuff and The Saints as db said.December 28, 2001 at 1:46 pm #83509Hey Evil One,
Some pretty cool suggestions so far…Den Buck that is an incredible string of songs…gotta love it.
SG also has some classic suggestions…Weirdos, Solitary Confinement is my fav by them.
I say add some Dinosaur Jr…think blink did freakscene …let him know how it should be done!!! Some Stooges…Search & Destroy or Raw Power, Husker Du…Could You Be The One or Don’t Want to Know …would work well.
So hey let us know what your final mix is and if the conversion attempt works.

January 8, 2002 at 7:53 pm #83510Actually, (yes I’m still workin’ on it) I’m planning on using Spanish Bombs and London’s Burning to represent the Clash. London’s Burning is my favorite and Spanish Bombs is the catchiest.
Also Adding the Minutemen’s This aint no picnik and Rancid’s Ruby Soho.
January 8, 2002 at 11:11 pm #83511White Riot and Safe European Home are two pretty cool Clash songs.

January 9, 2002 at 8:47 pm #83512These tracks always seem to find thier way into my "initiation mix tapes".
Safe European Home – The Clash (I’m seconding this great suggestion from allison)
Wait for the Blackout – The Damned
Merchandise – Fugazi
I Against I – Bad Brains
No Feelings – Sex Pistols
I’m in Trouble – The Replacements
Celebrated Summer – Husker Du
Bloodstains – Agent Orange
Left For Dead – Lemonheads
Coolidge – Descendants
You Say You Don’t Love Me – Buzzcocks
She’s the One – Ramones
Home of the Brave – Naked Raygun
Whatever’s Cool With Me – Dinosaur Jr.
Same Day – J/FogJust some thoughts – I could go nuts recommending Ramones, Damned, and Buzzcocks stuff alone.:

January 10, 2002 at 2:02 am #83513Ramones–the KKK took my Baby Away
Sleater-Kinney–I wanna be your Joey Ramone or All hands on the Bad one
Replacements–I will Dare
Minor Threat–Screaming at a Wall
Fugazi–Waiting Room
Lars Friedrickson–cover of To Have and to Have not
I’d recommend Bad Religion’s Walk Away or Against the Grain, but if he’s a hard core christian, that might bum him out. Maybe Propaghandi’s Today’s Empire’s Tomorrow’s Ashes? -
