March 21, 2006 at 9:13 am #115306VERY NICE JOB! I liked the footage you put together for it.
Thanks for sharing it too! What tools are you using for video editing?
March 21, 2006 at 9:33 am #115307Pretty cool, I enjoyed it too. I liked the syncing with the live show.
March 21, 2006 at 1:15 pm #115308Thank you. I’m glad you both like it.
Yeah, the footage is pretty great. I used a lot of stuff from http://www.freesofree.net; various live videos shot by other people. I hope that’s okay.
malkmus, I agree about the syncing with the live show – that it worked beautifully. "Never Bought It" has always been one of my favourite songs, and seeing and hearing J sing it is very cool. I was so thrilled that he peformed it again in 2004, when everybody thought the song had been retired. It seems to me like J really like it, and as if it should have been the first single off Hand It Over, or THE single from that album, since it was played a lot (on TV, radio and in shows) back then, in 1997, but I don’t think it was ever released as single, neither as a commercial single or promo. And there was no video either.
jeremiah, I used Ulead Video Studio 8.0 (PC software) for video editing. I know most people probably use Pinnacle’s video editing software, but I’ve always much prefered Ulead. Ulead Video Studio 7.0 is pretty good. Version 8.0 was released in 2004, and is even better. Last year the lastest version, 9.0, was released. I’m thinking of buying it, perhaps on Ebay. I bet you can find version 8.0 for a good price on Ebay, if you need a very cheap, but good, video editing program for your PC.
March 21, 2006 at 2:02 pm #115309I liked it a lot too… very nice reminder of what a great song that is
March 21, 2006 at 2:15 pm #115310Excellent, great work reminds me of how good it was in Central Park last summer.
Unfortunatly could’nt make it to the gigs before christmas.
Any one know how they went?March 24, 2006 at 6:15 am #115311Yeah man, I liked it, pretty cool…
It was really really strange to see me in it though, when J gets off stage at the end (Bush Hall, London) thats me by the door on the far left, not the guy who skakes j’s hand, but the one lurking.
so, thanks for sharing, brought back good memories of that show.
March 24, 2006 at 2:58 pm #115312Very nice. I want to go home and listen to the album now…
