My intention was to not to pre-listen to the whole album, but oh well…

Someone else hear that Crumble has a definite New Order feel to it, while I Got Lost (especially the drums+bass) is very Joy Divison-ish?

He left plenty of space in there for your mind to wonder but not get bored. Crumble’s one of my faves too. Kracked, he played I Got Lost acoustic the other night at the industry meeting? here.
I love the album, they’re great.
March 4, 2007 at 8:07 pm #124746Ive heard the new album in its entirety, and the first song "Almost Ready" is very old school dino sounding… both Lou songs are great. For the most part however it sounds like latter day Dino post Lou.. which not to say that it is bad, becasue I liked those as well, but it is pretty much like I expected… Beyond is quite good, Ill say that. Im looking forward to its official release.

"we’re not alone" and "crumble" are two that i really dig that that are a bit more mellow, just great rythems and beautiful shit going on.
as for the two lou songs i just think theyre amazing. i loved "back to your heart" right away when i heard it a few times last tour, and "lightning bulb" took me a few listens to really get into but now i love it just as much.
the more i listen to this album the more i love it.
id say "this is all i came to do" is the one to me that kinda screams j + the fog, not in a bad way, hell i love those 2 fog albums (especially more light). "been there all the time" i get the fog feel from that one also. just some observations and opinions.. feel free to attack and leave your own haha.
March 5, 2007 at 5:39 pm #124748yea, gotta love lightning bulb. j’s still plays like he used to, thats for sure.
I honsetly think This Is All I Came To Do would make a better single than Been There All The Time tho. It’s WAY more catchy but as long as the videos half decent, it should be good.

It is definately a creeper album… the more you listen to it the more it grows on you I think. I can’t wait to see em live again. I for one did not have my expectations set to high, so luckily I was surprised when I listened to it the first time.

Agree. I was surprised this was the first single.
March 6, 2007 at 10:49 am #124752Whatever happened to that ‘By The Fire’ track? Did they just decide to scrap it?
March 7, 2007 at 6:12 am #124753Oh yeah, I’d forgotten about that track…. maybe it’s gonna be a bonus track, or B side… or perhaps the name got changed.
Are there any other songs that got missed out from the first list?

March 9, 2007 at 8:18 am #124755There was a By The Fire and Stop listed. I didn’t buy the Rolling Stone with the article in it, but apparently there is a song named Tornado too. I think It’s Me is the most radio friendly one. I could really imagine that one being played on an alternative or possibly a rock station. Almost Ready has been being played.
March 9, 2007 at 9:24 am #124756I love the new album, I’ve been listening to it non-stop. Every song to me is excellent.
Almost Ready and Pick Me Up are my two stand-out favorites. On the Japanese version, there’s two bonus songs
12. Yer Son ?Bonus Track?
13. Tiny Town ?Bonus Track?March 9, 2007 at 10:22 am #124757when all comes to all, I always fall back on Dinosaur/J’s music. there were times I was critical to J’s voice, but the new album talks to my feelings. As always, that is part of what makes a persons favorite band. One don’t have to be 16 to feel music is speaking emotionally.
March 9, 2007 at 11:54 am #124758I’m liking Crumble, It’s Me and What If I knew the most. I like he gets straight to the chorus on What If I Knew.
