I didn’t particularly have the money, but I bought a new guitar today. It’s a Lefty Squier Strat from the 80s. A guy was selling it on Craigslist. He claimed it was from 1982, but it has an "E" before the serial number, which I believe was a limited run of American produced Squiers in ’88 or ’89 and actually quite rare. Either way, it’s all original parts (even case!) except he put lace sensors in it at some point (though they look pretty old too).

I have a Fender standard Strat (as seen in the back of the first two pictures), and while this guitar gets a different tone then it I wouldn’t say it’s better or worse. Has a good neck, and has some weight to it. Of course I’m not crazy about Squiers, but I figured it was a rare find, and I can get more than if I paid for if it I choose to sell it. Not bad for $300, eh?

Hey dude it’s a nice guitar. The main thing is it’s a versatile type of guitar. You can play rock, metal, melo rock, jazz, blues just every type of music.

Wait, what does it say on the headstock? My Dad is left-handed, and his favorite guitar is a Squire. . . "Pro Tone" (?) model. It was an early-mid nineties series of higher-level Squire guitars, and the off-white model was about the only way to get an ash-bodied Stratocaster without taking out a second mortgage. They were and are very good guitars, rumor has it the series was cancelled because they were actually cutting into Fender America sales.
