hey all,
my name is max. i live in jacksonville, florida. my mom used to board here a while back (as dfkgurl), but passed away in 2002. i’m 20 years old, and to be honest, am mostly drawn to dinosaur because of mr. barlow (although i really love j’s songs and feel a real spiritual connection with them– especially the songs on "dinosaur", "you’re living all over me", "green mind", and "beyond").
my mother was COMPLETELY obsessed with dinosaur in the most awesome way imaginable. she taught me all about indie rock, and the great majority of music i heard growing up was dinosaur, sebadoh, etc.
i make music as "applied communications" (http://www.applcomm.net) and more recently as "teen vogue dot com." it’s sort of weird stuff, but i really love doing it and tour pretty frequently. i run a label called discos mariscos (http://www.discosmariscos.com) with my great friend chad, who plays music as "emperor x."

your mom was a dear member of this community for sadly the short time she was here 
her death was a very sad event for us all around here but it`s cool that you decided to join us I`m a big fan of Rein Sanction and your mom`s role in getting their music out there was very cool.They said nice things about her on their MySpace page.I got into them just by hearing 1 song on the radio and seeing their Mariposa album in a used store in the summer of `94.I listened to it like mad that summer.It`s still one of my fave records and one of the hidden gems in the Sub Pop catalog.I got many people on other sites into Rein Sanction,everyone from here in Canada to Chile!Your mom told the story about J sending one of them a get well card after one of them had an accident.

thanks for the kind words about my mom. she really was a completely amazing person and it’s very sad that the world no longer has her. and as far as dinosaur goes, she probably would have been pretty psyched that i’m boarding here now and she DEFINITELY would have been absolutely nuts about "beyond."
the original bass player from rein sanction now runs an awesome breakfast place in jacksonville called "the fox," and the other two guys continue to power on, i guess. those first records they did really are pretty amazing. (my sonogram is on the cover of their very first LP!)

Yeah I have`nt heard their new album except for some clips.It`s a different direction for them.A guy in Finland I recommended them to wrote me back saying the honesty and sincerity of their music is powerful.Always good qualities to have for a band.
