J JOINS COBRA VERDE ON STAGE
There has been much cooperation of J Mascis and the Cleveland based post-glam indie-rock band Cobra Verde in the past – CV members played on Free So Free and they were the support act on many of J’s solo shows last year.
J also added some cool guitar sounds on Cobra Verde’s new record, Easy Listening, released on 15th April 2003 on Wayne Kramer’s muscletone records (details)
And there will be much of collaboration in the future …
J will join CV on stage in May to contribute lots of cool guitar sounds to their unique sound (see below). Their first show together has been on 19th April in Cleveland (review).

There will be REISSUES of the early Dinosaur Jr records this year and J is looking for some Dino live recordings out of the 80’s to be included as bonus tracks. Read more …what a total bummer !!!
i’m just going to miss those new US shows … i’ll be on the east coast from 1-20 may … if only i had known
Couple more dates have been announced on the Cobra Verde and Muscletone sites: May 24 at the Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY and May 30 at the Pilot Light in Knoxville, TN. No word on whether J is confirmed at those two shows as of yet.
hey squeapler, thanks for the update!
As these 2 new CV gigs are listed on the CV sites you mentioned, I assume they’re fixed – but … like you said, there’s no clue about whether they will be with or without J.
But to keep an eye on them (like on some others without a clue about J
), I put them on the above tour schedule 
after going through the clubs’ sites of the Cobra Verde feat. J Mascis tour again and re-checking the muscletone site, there are some new tour dates, and some changes to notice (see tour dates above)
We still don’t know for sure which of the shows will be with or without J on guitar, the hint about J in the tour dates list is according to the clubs’ sites announcements. So check the sites regularly to see if there are changes in the announcements!
