I’ve then uploaded them to share for free though.

Yeah, liberating a boot, as it’s called, is cool. It contributes to stopping the sale of bootlegs by sharing it.

Completely sucks some lameass is copying cd’s & selling them for profit, apparently some people suck in a huge way.

I think anyone can report this to eBay as this is in their policy:

        Quote:
        Unauthorized Copies

Do not list unauthorized (such as pirated, duplicated, backup, bootleg, and so forth) copies of software programs, video games, music albums, movies, television programs, or photographs on eBay.

        Examples
The following items may not be listed on eBay:
        Pirated copies of video games
VHS or CD-R copies of television programs taped off of television
"Backup" or "archival" copies of software programs
        Pirated copies of music
"Bootleg" recordings of live music performances
"Home video" versions of a movie still in theaters
Software loaded onto a computer hard drive that is not being sold with the original media (disks, manuals, etc.)

        Warning
Listings offering unauthorized copies of software, games, music, or video may be ended early by eBay. Multiple violations of eBay’s unauthorized copy policy could result in the suspension of your account.

As I am one of the very few people in this world without an eBay account I am not able to report it …… :?

I did report it, but the intellectual property owner has to fill out some form to validate that it infringes on their rights. Hopefully a certain someone will get the message & swift action will be taken.

Really lame to have a system that works that way. That means that artists have to be bothered with it, and that’s sad. More stress caused by those wankers selling boots.
And yes, hopefully messages will be sent and this whole mess ended.

            Right on Anthony!

              "liberating a boot". that’s cool. 8)
The last one I bought was Freakin Live!, and after that, I’ve never seen it online for sale…
When I got freakin live in the mail, it was a gold cdr with the words ‘freakin live’ written with a sharpie.

Cool! Does that mean that there’s a chance of Freakin’ Live appearing as shn’s/flac on fsf some time in the future? Yeah I know, I’m a sucker for lossless..

LAME!! Selling a boot and not even bothering to scan and print the cover..
Btw, I’ve got Dinosaurs Are Still Alive and it’s eager to be liberated, if you don’t have it in lossless I could include that in the package I’m preparing for you. + scanning the covers and mailing them to you. The more lossless + coverart at fsf, the less need for people to buy boots.

i dont know, the copy on cd i have could have well been made using crappy quality mp3s or such.

If there were original cdrs, yeah i would do that. You just don’t know what you have.

True, allways best to check the wav’s in soundforge or another audio editing program to be sure.

So you’re J Mascis, this is your material your selling.

J Mascis is in the process of reissuing some of his early cd’s, doubt he would appreciate you making money off his recordings.

You have songs from More Light, Free so Free, Whatevers Cool With Me, Green Mind, Where’d You Go, some singles on that disc. The labels those songs were licensed to include Warner, SST, Ultimatum & City Slang. Do you own the rights to those songs now, if so I apolgize, if not, stop selling someone elses material!

I purchased this cd at a Christmas Bazaar at a local church. I didn’t care for it and decided to sell it on e-bay. You will not see it on here again. I am sorry for upsetting you however I do not understand your hostility nor why you have this concern?

I don’t know christmas bazaar…the song yeah right comes to mine

Great that you got him to withdraw the auction!! He was wise no to mess with the Voodoo Priestess. Also, Salami could have sent the celtic mafia on his ass.

Wow, Coma Girl kicks butt….. I just tonight read this thread, I’m glad you jumped on it. I was getting pretty upset as I was reading down, I was thinking of getting my 4 year old Super Scorpio to go sit on his face ( she is not a great wiper at this point, she is working on it) but it looks like it has been taken care of.

wow, that’s kind of weird that someone would bother putting together something like that "dinosaur evolution" cd … besides the fact that it’s majorly uncool, it just doesn’t seem worth the time + effort on the maker’s part … but maybe i’m just ignorant of the earning potential of these sorts of things …

anyhow … lesson learned i think … no one messes w/allison !
