…..i’ve been blessed with Dino Jr. hitting Oklahoma twice in the same year. Does anyone know if the shows in December are a shared bill, headlining or opening? I’ll probably be headed there regardless (i’m about two hours away), but I just wanted to make sure.

      :skully:

Amidst a torrid ice storm, I braved the two hour drive (which turned into a three hour b/c of the weather), stood up for almost five hours and sat through three bands i’d never heard of (Andy, Colour Revolt and Awesome Color) to get to see DJr. in a headlining role for the first time in almost ten years.

Comepletely worth it. Hell, the opening bands rocked too. I’m not sure if it was just me excited to be at a real rock show again, or if the openers (especially the drummers of the two "Colo/ur" bands) were really THAT good. Anyway, bonus points for the openers being good. The Conservatory looked to hold maybe 300 people (if the Fire Marshal isn’t watching) so everybody was pretty close. I also forgot my ear plugs. Still, unbelievably good show with a good mix of old and new. No "In A Jar" for me, but really everything sounded so good that the exclusion of that song wasn’t such a big deal.

Funny story afterward…..I drove from OKC to Tulsa in a big winter storm….the drive took about three hours. After having my eardrums pulverized for a good four and a half hours, and standing up all of that time (owww, my knees!! My hips!!!) I headed back at 12:30AM. I was just outside Edmond when I saw a flash of bright green light to my left. At least, I thought that’s what I saw. Could I have imagined it? Yea….probably….stressful drive, tired, ears ringing….I imagined it.

After the third one popped, my theory had progressed from some sort of jumping green lightning to, possibly, alien life.

After the fifth one popped, I was relatively certain my alien life hypothesis would be proven true. And I was really hoping those rumors of probes were just that. If anything would have made that drive home worse, it would have been a probe.

I probably saw 10 of them before I got home, and, until now, I was just not gonna say anything and be thankful that I got home probe-less. Well, I called my brother who already thinks I’m a goof, and he explained they were electrical transformers blowing out. I think i’m going to go with that transformer theory too. Sounds solid.

          Thanks Geeky,

I love long tales of Dinosaur adventures. Roughly Three nights a week, I drive about 30 miles into the country in the dark, I go and work in a studio space that has about 100 acres of pitch black darkness. No neighbors around for miles. Sometimes other folks are working late out there in there own spaces, but mostly I’m alone, I usually start my drive back home around midnight. No cell phone service either. I have a carry/conceal permit for a weapon so my biggest fear was of things that would be impervious to any sort of human weaponry. Recently, I have come to the conclusion that I am too old for probing and genetic extraction, Thank God for that, because it makes my long lonely drives a little less intimidating.
