Hey I was given a cd called "Old Enough 2 know Better"
15 years of Merge Records.

Has some Neutral Milk Hotel, Superchunk (oh yeah), The Magnetic Fields, Crooked Fingers and many more. I have listened to it three times and I , well, just don’t like it , If any of you would like to try listening to it, please e-mail or Pm, or something and I will send it to YOU. This is a 3 disk collection.

Give it another chance I think Butterglory,Versus,and Richard Buckner is on it too who are faves of mine(besides Superchunk and NMH)

So funny, my son age 8, wanted me to keep the cd just so he could look at the cover. and Yes, SG, I like a few of those acts myself, I don’t know why it feels so down to me.

Whoa, whoa, easy now tiger, I really like Neutral Milk Hotel and Superchunck, and the Magnetic fields. Thats why I was so happy to receive the cd at first.

ok, it’s not the best NMH song on the disc. And sad that they didn’t include oh sister, sailing through or any of the other brilliant but sadly not officially relased NMH songs on disc 3.

Yes, I was wondering, since all of the profit from this Cd is going to some creative or artist cause that I just can’t recall at the moment, and none of it to the artist’s perhaps, well, it sounds so wrong for me to say, but perhaps
they just kind of scraped the barrel for these choices, I would love to have others opinions on this.

I get a bad taste in my mouth from saying this, since I’d like to have high thoughts of merge, but it seems like a likely explanation.

They could`ve picked better songs like…
Versus-I would`nt have picked Eskimo,Said Too Much or Raining would`ve been better
Butterglory-Alexander Bends or Skills Of The Star Pilot instead of She Got The Akshun
Superchunk-Cool is a good pick but there`s alot of others they could`ve included

Ah, I misread SG’s post. I thought he was including Eskimo as one of his choices, and was going to disagree because I’ve never really liked that song.

Raining or Said Too Much are good though. I also would’ve liked Jealous, Lets Electrify or Crazy.

They can`t include those since they`re not on Merge,they could include live versions I guess.

The Rock*A*Teens are on that collection!Hwy R is a good song but I would`ve picked If I Wanted To Be Famous I Would`ve Shot Someone.
