I need to change the font to have it read better. Can someone tell me if any of these smile/alien/devil icons in the editor actually does something normal like change the font to Courier? If someone can tell me, I’ll change the post. Else, put this in Notepad and it should straighten out.
I tend play a bit better than write tab, so let me know if anything needs more detail.
The intro is spot on but I tend to play mostly power chords unlike J who fills in alot of higher notes on the chords. Suggestions requested in areas like the C chord in the chorus section.
I play this tuned down a whole step (standard tuning E=D). However, J may simply drop the E string for the palm mute portion. If you are using that tuning, simply subtract 2 for the 1-5 string fret notations.

My biggest concern, knowing that information, is the low D note during the palm mute stuff. Wth standard capo on 5th fret tuning, is J playing the D palm mute an octave higher than I’ve noted above? It sure seems like my E string tuned down to D is the right note. i.e. is it D 5th fret A string?
I also failed to note the g,f#,d lick at the end of the chorus.
I also forgot to do the "hold on" etc vocal section during the fast part right before they drop into the final slow section/solo.
I’ll add that to my original post when I get the chance.
May 23, 2007 at 9:26 am #129178I agree that drop d sound fooled me too. J doesn’t play it that way, he said it was possible that Lou dropped his bass down but he didn’t know. I think it may just be a combination between a standard tuned bass and the high pitch of a capo on the 5th fret. When J played the verse rif there wasn’t a slide like I thought either, more of a hammer on. The chords he plays on that part (with the capo on the 5th fret) an A minor chord to a C major chord. I know it sounds weird but I watched him do it. You’ll find that playing the bridge (slow) part is way easier this way too.
