Regarding the hoax quote, hoax or not, you can easily spin that toward John Winthrop and the Puritan settlers and his conception of his people, "God’s chosen people" having a "city on a hill". He was talking about God establishing a covenant with the U.S., Christians, specifically. Of course, the Old Testament believes that Israel are the chosen ones. Where am I going with this? Who knows…. It is interesting though, in light of this thread and recent events.

I mostly have taken Nostradamus w/ a grain of salt. I’m not saying there aren’t lots of abilities we haven’t discovered about the human brain, but no one’s that accurate. Like the website Palace Brother linked implied… If you make enough broad predictions, eventually one’s gonna hit paydirt. [img]images/smiles/converted/wink.gif[/img]

Come on Tonyman, let’s not make acusations before the fact. No one’s launched any missiles at the arab coutries yet. Let’s wait and see what unfolds before we start calling our prez a madman.
As for beefing up our security, I’ll feel that this may have to happen on an individual level. As Americans, I feel we’ve become too timid. Most people aren’t willing to put their lives on the line. We’ve been taught this in schools and its been shaped into our laws.
Even on much smaller scales, we’ve been taught that if some goon waves a weapon in front of you, demanding your wallet, we should just give it to him and cooperate. This teaches the criminals that they’ll receive no resistence. It makes it easy for them… If everyone faught back everytime they were robbed, the criminals would likely learn that crime is a very dangerous line of work. I realize that people would be hurt or killed at first, but if people desire their freedom, they sure as hell better be willing to fight for it, otherwise someone will take it away.
Truth is, the moment those terrorists hijacked the planes, ther should’ve been 20 angery passengers piling on top of them, tearing them limb from limb..! [img]images/smiles/converted/mad.gif[/img] I wouldn’t supprised if that is the case in the event of future hijackings.

Once again, sorry for misleading information -I’ve run into a wall several times to punish myself.
Mattman -I guess this is just rumours, but I’ve read speculations in the press regarding a theory that some folks in the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania in fact rebelled against the hijackers so that the plane couldn’t reach Camp David. Again this is just speculations in European press -it hasn’t been validated yet.
The thing that scares me a bit is that Nato -as it is supposed to do -has offered USA it’s full support both morally and military against the terrorists or who ever is behind. This means that if The US can come up with evidence saying that it infact was an outside attack -The whole fucking Nato will react. If this happens we aren’t excactly talking small time operations, and God knows what the final result will be. So I just hope everybody( every leader) will keep their heads cool when getting to the bottom of this, that there won’t be any jumping to conclusions.

With Matt on the love of the bizarre stories associated with aliens/zombies/telepathics as well( [img]images/smiles/converted/eek.gif[/img] a band I saw tonite was called telepathic butterflies [img]images/smiles/converted/eek.gif[/img] ) but need more hard science versus anecdotal accounts b4 I sign on and believe anything [img]images/smiles/converted/wink.gif[/img] Still fun to check out though [img]images/smiles/converted/biggrin.gif[/img]
Sad to here about attacks on Arabic people in the US, isolated incidents but still wickedly premature..like saying a white car hit my husband and attacking all white cars…just plain silly [img]images/smiles/converted/confused.gif[/img] I am taking a wait and see approach to the US response to this as well, good news that NATO is on board ie more countries to try and pressure some rogue nations to hand it over versus what they have gotten away with over the last several years.
