Hi.
Non of my friend are big Dino/J fans. I always try to tell them about the great J but for what?
But "Please remember that I’m here" from the Amma album has been a really big party hit here in this little small town called Karlskrona in Sweden. And of course I like it alot.
Someone else got the same experience? It’s a pretty catchy tune

Yes, I’ve had both of your experiences, None of my close friends are big Dino/J fans. I USED to always try to tell them about the great J but one day I threw my hands up in the air and said "For What?"
but………………..My children (and I, of course) love the Amma song, and when friends come over and its playing they say things like "Oh, thats so nice, what is it?" My little son is facinated by the video on youtube because it was a dog, cow, horse and sun, some of his favorite things, he thinks J is singing "Mama" over and over which is one of his favorite words, if only the video had a few motorcyles and a car, it would probably be his all time favorite.
June 24, 2006 at 12:36 pm #118418I have the same experience. My wife keeps an open mind about things I’m into, at leasts she’s trying, but often when I listen to Dinosaur Jr and J blasts into a really loud and noisy and beautiful part… she asks me to lower the volume

But Please Remember That I’m Here she really likes and even asks me to put on for her. I’m still hoping that it could work as in introduction to the more sonic stuff but I’m not too sure… She does like some Dino tunes like Forget the Swan and most of You’re Living All Over Me but still has a big problem with the noisefest parts – the outros of most tracks on YLAOM for instance :-June 29, 2006 at 9:36 am #118419My wife and I have completely different tastes in music. While I like stuff that isn’t popular and doesn’t get played on commercial radio, she’s all into Top 40. Ick. She consistently accuses me of influencing the kids to like "my kind" of music. I just tell her that the kids know crap when they hear it.
Not many of my freinds got into Dinosaur either. While they like alot of the other stuff I do, Dinosaur was never one of them. Thats cool though, if there was 1 band I could choose to be mine it would be Dinosaur. And within my group of freinds thats how it is.
So its ok that none of your freinds are into it…………. We still have each other.
(LOL)July 21, 2006 at 1:01 pm #118420My wife and I also love the song too. Our musical taste is way different. She doesn’t enjoy the noisy parts, or the sheer volume of the live shows, but she does like J/Dino.She tends to prefer the songs like Please Remember…, Keeblin, and Severed Lips.To me, one of the things thats always appealed the most about J’s music is the ability to go from Sludge to Drawerings, or Bulbs of Passion to Take a Run at the Sun.
It’s funny, Anna mentioned her children love that song, and its one of my 2 year olds favorite songs as well. I think it has alot to do with the video too.
I was cracking up the other day when I heard my little guy singing
"I’ll be down, I’ll be around"
I’d been playing Your Living in my car a lot lately, and he was obviously impressed.
July 21, 2006 at 1:09 pm #118421i find myself singing that a lot too
