What is the meaning of this song. The Lyric "I’m a little boy w/ my feet nailed to the ground" makes it sound like Lou was depressed or something when writing it. And What does the word poledo mean?

"Poledo" is a made-up word by Lou (like the word "Sebadoh"). Shortly after the song was released, he met Kath (whom he married later on). I imagine he perked up around that time. ;)

Im not a big fan of Lou’s work with Dinosaur Jr on You’re Living All Over Me. It had the basics of good songwriting but it really threw the album off it’s course. It doesn’t fit well on the record.

I really like Lose, though. That’s a good song. Not Poledo, though. It really weighs down the album. It’s always the song I skip when listening to You’re Living All Over Me. Other than that one song, the album is spectacular.

and Poledo is a beautiful song. it’s so strange, and comes out of nowhere, thats why i love it. in my opinion, it doesn’t weigh down the album it just gives it even more variety. You’re Living All Over Me wouldn’t really be the same album it is today without Poledo.

Lose is one of Dino’s greatest songs, I love it so much it just hits ya in the gut.

i agree 100%, the albums flawless its the only clash between j + lous song writing and its amazing

plus to say "thats the song i ussually skip" its like, you mean you stop there? cause last i checked it was the last song on the album.. and its great closure

i used to skip poledo when i first heard the album. but i knew back that i didn’t know shit. i don’t skip a single track on YLAOM, let alone any other Dinosaur album.

I love Poledo and I agree YLAOM woudn’t be the same without it. My favorite part is at the end when it just breaks down into ambient noise. I would love to have seen the state of Lou when he made it… he must have been really fucked up, the lyrics are great

Acid and poledo mix like peanut butter and jelly. ;) its an awesome experience.

i really love the second part of the song. the lyrics of the whole song seem somewhat "fucked up", but it actually seems rather happier the second part of the song.

I havn’t done acid mainly because my head is already fucked, but I have listened to Poledo many a time when I have been really really stoned. Like this year at Leeds festival me and my friend were wasted and we played Poledo full blast on my speakers in the campsite and all the gimps around us were shouting abuse at us saying it was shit and that we were twats. We just laughed then played don’t after :)

I love the Jesus Christ part

hehe :) and acid won’t make you insane, i can mostly control my trip. most of the time. people who don’t expect much from it might have a bad time.
