Hey. I’m a new member here. I went to the Portland show on Thursday. Awesome show overall. They were a lot tighter than when I saw them at the Fillmore in SF in 05. There was a little bit of technical diffulculties during the show but they were great. I was right up against the stage for most of the show. At the end of the encore, the band said they would play one more song and asked for what they should play. I was right in front of Lou and I couldn’t think very hard of what would be cool that they would actually play so I yelled out sludgefeast. I got Lou’s attention and he looked at me. I yelled it again and then he went over to Murph and then J and told to play which they then did. After the show I asked Lou for the set list which he gave to me. Here it is:

        Almost Ready
        In A Jar
        Been There All The Time
Back To Your Heat (Listed as Lou #1)
        Feel The Pain
This Is All I Came To Do
        Out There
        Pick Me Up
#11 (Not sure what the name of it is, I’m not too familiar with the new record)
        Little Fury Things
        Bulbs Of Passion
        Gargoyle

        Lose
        Freakscene

        Sludgefeast

If any one here has any pictures of the show I’d really like to see some. I saw around 3-4 people taking pictures so hopefully someone has some here. Does anyone know if this or any of the shows so far have gotten taped?

From talking with the crew and the guys it seems this has been the show of the tour so far. Lou and Murph loved that show and the sound guy said they were really "On" that night. Portland is a super cool town it doesn’t surprise me.

I was at this show at well. The band was really on the whole night, and the Ballroom is such a cool venue. Uhh, some notes on the show:

Awesome Color played a good set, a lot of the audience got in to it, the band seemed genuinely surprised at the energy they got from the crowd.

When Dinosaur came out, Lou started off by telling the audience that someone stole a nice blue jacket of his from his dressing room, and pleaded for it to be returned if anyone had it. He said it was a $150 jacket and the only nice piece of clothing he owned. On a side note, J was wearing a Wipers T-shirt (from a 2002 tour, I think?). Before "Back To Your Heart", Lou’s jacket got thrown back on to stage. "You’ve redeemed yourselves, Portland!" he proclaimed. Lou dedicated "Feel The Pain" to the summer. Somewhere midway in the main set, Murph left the stage for a few minutes (??) and Lou called for the audience to yell "MURPH!" to get him back. At the end of Gargoyle, J set up a delay/repeat loop on his guitar, set it down on the stand, then left the stage. The only real big technical problem I noticed the night was that Lou’s vocals were a bit low on the PAs, but that could have just been because I was standing about 8 feet away from J’s amps. J broke a string during the second solo on Sludgefeast, and surprisingly enough the hums and squeals of him changing to his other guitar sounded like it was in the right key for the solo.

Im curious about the solo for Sludgefeast, did the song keep going or did it end around the four minute mark?

Also, in another thread someone said they had either the SD or one of the LA shows tapped but havent heard any new developments on that.

I can’t recall exactly, but I think they did bring it out a bit long… maybe 6 minutes for the whole song.
