hey bela, more than a few other fans (including myself), who had the chance to meet J after a show, said that he’s not a man of many words in those occasions, so you really don’t have to worry for a second that he could hate you :)
and I fully understand the nervousness :)🙂

I keep my fingers crossed you’ll soon have the chance to be where you like to be!
but until then (and beyond!) — isn’t this site a cool place to spend time with other J Mascis fans, exchanging news, stories & opinions ?!

I was thinking about it yesterday… And I agree that this place is an amazing opportunity for all of us to get in touch with other Dinosaur Jr and J Mascis fans! It´s really amazing to be able to meet other people who also are big fans of Mascis´ music. :D

hey bela … it’s great that you got to meet j … i’ve met him briefly a few times too + he does have that way of making you feel a bit uncomfortable, but like his friends said, that just seems to be his way … …

how was the party overall ? or were you too nervous to notice +/or enjoy it ? did you bring a friend for support ?

The party was really interesting, which I could notice in the FEW seconds when I could relax a bit, so yeah, I was pretty nervous!

The place was really packed and everybody seemed to be enjoying it! There was a delicious cake there and everybody ate it. J seemed to LOVE it, by the way!

I didn´t know a lot of people while I was living in Boston! I had a few friends, who lived in the same dormitory as me, but they weren´t into the same music as I am, so no one wanted to go to the book release with me! Too bad!

I met someone I know at the party, but I wish I hadn´t! The guy was such an asshole, even though he was trying to help. The thing is: I was trying to breathe and be less nervous, so I could say "hi" to J after that, but the guy wanted me to talk to J at that very moment, so he ran to J and told him "Your #1 fan is here, but she is too shy to have a few words with you! She´s a brazilian girl and blablabla, would you take a picture with her?", which just made me feel pretty much pathetic and uncomfortable.

I know it seems like a very funny situation, but believe me, the guy just screwed things up and made me feel even more nervous than I already was! :o

oh no !!! that does sound embarassing … his tactics are straight out of jr high school … like, my friend likes you … oh dear … too bad you couldn’t find a way of losing your unwanted company ! :o

hey, i had this book sent over a few weeks ago + it’s great … there’s loads of good exercises to be found here + w/each one hilken + maura + friends demonstrate exactly how they’re done (as opposed to some lame-o confusing description a lot of the health + fitness mags print !) …

                  anyhow … j features in 2 exercises …

the face down butt lift + the scissor thighs … for the face down butt lift there’s 2 pix of j … in the top one he’s just laying face down, head to the side + the caption reads, "am i done yet ?" … the lower pic has him lifting one leg + the caption reads, "i gotta go bid on some effects boxes on ebay" … + at the v.bottom of the page it says … "most guitar gods have strong arms, but their butts usually need extra work. we knew that this would be perfect for our friend j mascis, who likes to spend a lot of time lying down"😆

+ the scissor thighs move … now that just looks seriously painful  ….

anyhow … there’s also a few fitness-related interviews in the book as well … 2 of which are with mike watt + thurston moore …

+ there’s some other good stuff too, like how pra was started + a few examples of their hate mail :o  :o … + some of their fan mail too

anyhow … if you’re in the market for a quality exercise book, this is a pretty damn good one … 8)

just seen this  :!: so great you have bought the book! sounds really cool how relaxed and realistic they deal with the "fun of workout"

thanks a lot for the details about the J pics, rambleon!
