Well Ammaringnyc, gotta disagree but respect your opinion, I will.
Ya know, this reminds me of the in joke that Ringo is the second best drummer in the Beatles next to Paul. Poor Murph- no respect…
I find that most of the beauty in Dino’s music is related to the soft underbelly that is left just exposed enough to entice you to dig deeper. Start Choppin’ is the best example, and probably the most polished, I can come up with- the opening 20 seconds or so has so much going on under the main hook. I’m talking four or five layers of pure guitar goodness. Anyone know what I’m talking about? Isolate the tracks if you don’t, you won’t be disappointed. The older stuff has this to a lesser degree, but it’s still there: see Tarpit.

This topic has seemed to get a little off track so, I got an actual question. What the heck is all that "your killing me" stuff during the bridge of Raisins? It’s gotta be a movie dub, but what movie?

It`s when Lou used to work at a nursing home(or was it mental hospital?)and he taped one of the people there.

I think In A Jar is also from Lou`s job but I could be wrong

J is a good rock and country player. He’s not a jazzmusician, though I’d love to hear J play bossa nova. ;D

when it comes to drums, I don’t have any clue. He sounds good.I don’t have the drummingknowlegde to compare him with other famous drummers. But I can hear a lot of rythm hooks and tricks when he plays guitar. There’s a lot of elaborated songconstructions, so I he must have a pretty good idea of rythms.

An album called Jazz Samba For Amma would be cool ;D

Got another question, and one I should know the answer to but, I’ll ask anyways.

I’m Insane: What is the insturment that makes up the main hook through the song? A flute? Slide?

                                  Thanks!
Does J even play slide? His style seems quite suited for it to me but, I;ve never heard him play any.
