Love Lou’s new tune, Back to Your Heart, probably my favorite of the four new tunes I’ve heard so far. I’m getting really excited about this record! But, I have a question–I send my brother a live version of "Back to Your Heart" live, and he thinks that there is an extra guitarist, because he really doesn’t think the rhythm parts sound like J. Personally, I think it’s just J playing a part that Lou presumably wrote, so it doesn’t sound like typical J playing. The only other possibility that I can think of is that the band switches instruments on the song. Can anyone who has seen the song live confirm who is playing what?

No switching of instruments….it’s definitely J on guitar. He really thrashes away when he’s playing that one, too. I think he likes having a break from singing.

Yeah, J really takes off during this song when playing it live (and I didn’t see a 2nd guitarist hiding behind the curtains either ;) ). I think the studio version sounds less like Dinosaur and more like Sebadoh in a way, since the guitar has a really different & mild tone to it. And it’s a bit slower. Live, it sounds pretty Stooges-influenced, the guitar is very Ron-Asheton-like noodeling…
