I’m pretty sure that I’ve read (though I don’t remember where) that it was an accident. During the recording the tape broke, but when they listened to it they thought it sounded cool, and so they just kept it that way.

Can anyone confirm this?

I would want to know what he thinks about growing up in the same town as Emily Dickinson. Then ask if he likes any of her stuff. And if his birthday is really the same day as hers.

I would ask him what kind of women he dates. After being J fans for years and listening to all of his lyrics of heartbreak and longing, my roommate and I always wondered what some of his girlfriends looked like.

I would ask him if I could play a couple "original" songs of mine through his fender jazzmaster, the one with all the crazy little stickers on it, powered through his Marshall amps… Then I would ask if he would jam getme and thumb with me while I was on that clear blue drum kit of George’s. Finally, I would ask him if he smoked fatty kind nuggets…
