Hey, if you played around my area I’d go to the show. I know how impossible it is for some people to get gigs, and how easy it is for others. My band can barely secure a show at a youth center when other bands in my area are playing at Chicken Out
July 7, 2006 at 1:33 am #118411I hear ya man. All these bands around here are playing at a club down town like 5 mins. away called Heathers Hideaway. I however asked them how I could get a show, but I guess I went about it too properly and they thought I was a bigger act and wanted a demo and press kit….no one does that there. All the new bands just go say, hey….can we play here? Plus I emailed, ’cause I’m too lazy to go down there and ask.
Randy Jane….(not the band, me) is taking up a donation called…..R.J. needs to get another car so he can deconstruct his 97 neon and rebuild it completely and now I need to get this ROCKIN’ 2000 Dodge Stratus my manager has for sale, he said it was going to be really cheap. I’m hoping under a grand because he’s BUYING with CASH a brand new Nissan 350Z or whatever. I told him to stick with Mopar, but he insists. I’m hopefully going to get his Stratus though, it’s niiice. 4 door though….eeeef! Hopefully he’ll do payments….although I’m not very good with those with the money I get…..like $800 per month.
I suck.
Randy Jane.July 7, 2006 at 7:26 am #118412Hey… I have a 2000 Stratus… great car! Only complaint I’ve ever had about it is that it eats brakes. I think maybe they are undersized for the car.
My wife used to have a Neon. It was a very good car too… sadly, somebody hit it and pretty much took off the entire front end. We considered having it fixed, but it was too destroyed.
Anyway… if you’re looking to play around the Boston area, my favorite place is The Middle East (http://www.mideastclub.com). You would want to play the upstairs… the guy that books for upstairs is named Shred, and he’s a really cool guy.

Are there any people here from around Tazwell VA.? I went there not too long ago and played with some people. One of the guys I played with is my store manager at the Wendy burger. He wants to be in Randy Jane and he plays bass, so……I’m thinking hes in. It’s cool, he’s my GM so he can give me whatever day/s off I want. I tell him I want to go to a show and he works with me. We’re going to that Hideaway place this Sat. to see a friends band (Horns of Moses…metal band, good though).RST…..got bass yet? I still want to do this thing. I dont know if Jason (mgr. guy on bass for RJ) has a vacation coming up or not, but I really want this to happen. Anywhere is where RJ plays. As long as it wont get us in tons of trouble ……a little is ok….I’m used to that.
October 19, 2006 at 5:50 am #118414ok, so now…..everything is on hold because we finally got a "new" bassist! I got a call from my original bass player, Jack and now he is playing with Randy Jane once more! It will take a little while to get him up to speed on things but hopefully around the new year we will be playing shows and taking videos of all of it. Of course I will have to figure out how to put it up on like….Youtube and myspace to share with you all.

In fact, I just e-mailed the Middle East this morning to see about getting back in there. I don’t think Shred is booking there anymore, but it’s still a cool place to play.
If you’re gonna try to do the tour thing sometime next year, maybe we can set something up together in Boston.
