That really sucks maxini
How long do they estimate until you’re all recovered?November 22, 2004 at 8:11 am #106050Ah it really doesn’t suck too badly. In fact I feel recovered already, but apparently it takes a rather long time for the immune system to get back to normal functionality which is why I need to rest and rest and rest in order not to catch a cold or some other infection. Should be able to go back to work shortly, but for six months I’m supposed to avoid certain types of food and alcohol
November 22, 2004 at 11:52 am #106051Robert: Ok, could you maybe send that online wolfenstein to me via messenger or mail? Its the old wolfenstein
that doesnt require a high tech computer, right? Not the new wolfenstein released 2 years ago..
My messenger is aatos_s@hotmail.com and mail aatos@komea.netNow about snowboarding(most of the users probably skip this part..).
Back in the days when my parents still payed the lifttickets i used to ride in a small resort near
Helsinki called Talma. I guess Talma has been mentioned in some snowboardingmagazines because many
finnish prosnowboarders like it(pro=me? no). Anyway, Talma offers about 200 meters of snowboarding.
Thats not much, but the park is really good. They work/shape the park everyday and its the best in
southern Finland. There are good resorts in Lapland that are bigger but i have never been there with
a snowboard. But the last 2-3 years i havent got the money to pay almost 20€´/day every week, so me and
other local snowboarders have built our own jumps at an old skijump landing. Actually i like the own
jumps most because there is no stress for other riders to land on your neck when you fail landing.
Here you can see how the jump looked like a couple of winters ago. Thats me trying to be one of the greatest norwegians ever, the one and only Terje!!

I guess you do snowboarding aswell? Where? I know some big resorts in Norway like Hemsedal and Stryn.. Havent been there though.November 24, 2004 at 11:37 am #106052
November 27, 2004 at 12:49 pm #106053Cool pic Aatos

Terje is the greatest
No one will ever be half as good as him. Just like there will never be another Maradona or Senna. You don’t get fairly cheap season tickets in finland?
Having your own place to ride is sweet, and I totally agree about the benefits of not being landed on by some dumbo.
My knees are pretty much busted, or rather -they are ruined, so I can’t ride that much. Only a couple times a year, and then I’m sort of an invalid for the next couple of weeks. Hemsedal is nice, but too crowded. And a lot of folks who’re just there, not riding, just being seen. Stryn is nice, especially since it’s open during the summer. My favorite is probably Riksgrensen, due to the sheer size of it and the steepness of the slopes + the snow depth. Narvik is nice as well, with a lot of freeriding possibilities.

snow bunniesNovember 29, 2004 at 1:03 pm #106055Terje is, still today, one of the best riders. He doesnt do the crazy technical rail things, or compete in pipe, but he does some serious "gnarly" lines in backcountry. I saw a document of him last winter in airplane and it was interesting. Have you seen him snowboarding live??
Well, the seasontickets are cheaper but i wouldnt have that much use for a sesonticket. And besides, my wallet is suffering from hunger or something like that..
Is Riksgränse a part of Sweden or Norway? Maybe both? Its famous, i remember when Ingemar Backman jumped the 6-7meter bsair, "back in the days".. Nowadays there is a young snowboarder from Finland by the name of Heikki Sorsa who beholds the record in QP -biggest air, i think its 8 or 9 meters. He did it in Norway, in a contest called Arctic Challenge. Im not sure but it could be somewhere near Narvik…? Ive heard of Narvik, is it a fishing village or what?
Knee and other injuries seem to be the darker side of the sport. Many older snowboarders joke about not being able to go when they reach the age of 40.. Im also having problems with my knee, but its not that bad.. yet.
November 29, 2004 at 1:12 pm #106056sadly I’ve never seen him "ride live." have you seen subject haakonsen? it’s the best damn snowboard movie out there !
Yeah, that Backman jump really rocked ! He got injured not long after that jump, didn’t he? And was out for a hell of a long time. Couple of years if I remember correct. I’ve seen some movies with Sorsa(sosa?) and he’s not half bad

Riksgrensen is swedish, the only good thing in that country
But it’s a damn good thing.Yeah narvik is a coastal village in the north of norway, and the artic challenge(wich is founded and led by haakonsen,) was there a couple of times. I’m not sure but I think it’s been held in trysil as well.

Now, that would really hurt under normal circumstances, but bearing in mind that you have been drinking heavily lately which I guess is the only way to cope with the grim Norwegian winter, I forgive you, my friend

lol, I was going to put (yes I might be a bit upset about maxini not loving turbonegro) after my "only good thing in sweden" remark

I really have a craving for Abro Kung, have you tried it? Great beer and only 10 kr for 0.5 ltr at the beloved systembolaget.November 29, 2004 at 2:53 pm #1060601. I’m not supposed to drink alcohol for six months. That’s what a doctor told me but clearly I need a second opinion since I don’t want to take any chances and gamble with my life.
2. Yes, I’ve tried Ã¥bro kung, but I can get much better and much cheaper beer at my current local pub.
3. Just shut up about beer ok??
