Back in the day….when many of us had such a thing as "mixed tapes"….Burning Spears "Slavery Days" carried me down many a lonely highway in the middle of the night. Check out this updated version….it appears as if the boys are off the weed, I’ve never heard this song done at this tempo….I like the little keyboard in the beginning, and of course sucker for horns.
so I would wish for you to add Slavery Days….I know sometimes we love to bash the hit but in this case, I think not.

yeah burning spear is great.. ive seeen him several times. probably some of the greatest reggae ever.. old school mix tapes are the only way to do it.

Do you have the Rockers soundtrack with "Slavemaster" on it? Cut for cut, I rate that lp as the best single reggae comp I’ve heard. That Kiddus I cut is beyond crucial.
hell yeahs. i have that disk. that movie captures the real deep reggae at its peak in jamaica. it is a terrible shame how so many of jamaican artists die young or get lost in obscurity. i think jacob miller would have been as big as bob marley had he not died in a car accident. i love that song forward jah jah children…. when i was younger me and my mates would watch that video over and over again to try and figure out what they are saying. i think they just made up lines as they went along. they sure say jah rastafari a lot.
