yeah right.
bummer

Not huge but something more than there was when they were initially released. We had a request here over a year ago for people to send in live pics from waaayyy back in time to be included in the liner notes, ny understanding is more than a few did so…fingers crossed

Guess I’m just a glass half full kinda girl
December 6, 2004 at 3:19 pm #106434yeah i should be more positive… as you guys know, i struggle with that sometimes…

Oh, and Jon, you do have a few good points, I mean one would think one wants to sell this thing.
December 6, 2004 at 7:32 pm #106436Here’s a couple links to articles where J talks about remastering the three discs that are being reissued, he talks about the process, what might be included etc…
December 6, 2004 at 8:07 pm #106437it seems like he’s trying to make the definite version of these albums for the future and new fans instead of giving all the goodies, irregardless of quality to the hardcores. throw down needs to be on there for sure and yes all the tracks jeremiah mentioned. i really wish they would give us a deluxe edition but i think they will be good at the very least for the remastered sound
December 7, 2004 at 10:33 am #106438what do you all think of Bulbs of Passion being the first song on Dinosaur? I really like Forget the Swan as an opener. I thought it was so cool to start your debutalbum with just drums! A bold move, imho, and it really works well.
December 7, 2004 at 12:31 pm #106439to tell you the truth I didn’t think about the switch until you mentioned it. would be cool to hear from J why he chose to do it this way for the new editions.
I’ll have to dig out dinosaur and try it both ways.December 7, 2004 at 12:43 pm #106440This is a bit from the interview Reptilian Rocker Rolls on, it’s J talking about
remastering Dinosaur from vinyl & why he used Bulbs of Passion as the lead song…` And we re-mastered the first album off of vinyl, because I don’t know where the tapes ended up. But I thought that sounded pretty cool. Plus, we put a B-side from the first album as the first song, since that was kind of like our song that defined us the best and what we liked most about it when we recorded it.”
December 7, 2004 at 12:47 pm #106441thanks a ton for answering my question Allison

And J’s reasoning definetely makes sense.strange deal !

+ if for nothing else it will definetely be interesting to hear how a vinyl-cd remastering works out.December 7, 2004 at 12:56 pm #106442in my opinion, the re-issues are just that.
re-issues.i think it will be fantastic to listen to YLAOM and Bug, one that is digitally remastered.
one that you can just crank so loud in your car, overwhelming all of the rap that gets blasted around here.

I don`t think I`ve ever heard Dino blasted out of a car,it`s always rap and techno it seems
Picture this:you get stopped by the cops and while he`s walking to your car you blast the beginning of Little Fury Things
a good scene for a movie I think
December 7, 2004 at 4:38 pm #106444you’ve never been to hagerstown then

the best thing, is at a red light
someone next to you with their windows down is cranking missy e or tone-loc or something, and you simply put in Chunks on volume 100December 7, 2004 at 8:20 pm #106445lol – back when I was in school I had a honda civic hatchback (no options or anything since I am ‘coming straight out of low cash’) but added a box in the back with 2 12" woofers, 2 5" mids and 2 3" tweeters with an amp. it was dino almost all the time played like it was meant to be played.. "So the sound of the guitar would move the hair on the backs of your legs".
had a big fat dinosaur jr logo sticker on there too. my first new car purchase. I miss that thing
December 9, 2004 at 8:45 am #106446I’m getting Dinosaur for sure, since my copy skips, and Bug for the No Bones video. I don’t know about YLAOM, though. I probably will, but maybe not right away like the other two.

great story jeremiah!
I remember some other mentions of your civic, sadly not able to find them right now. I think my favorite dino in the car album is hand it over, the sound is pretty dense and thick, so you can really feel the bass and drums. More Light is a good car album as well.
The only problem is that listening to dino makes me drive faster and faster.Man, we need to get printed some new dino stickers!
