I’m confused. Merge said on the message board that Show Me the Way wasn’t going to be included because it was a bonus track on the original CD pressing of the album. That never made sense to me since they are including other bonus tracks but whatever. I guess we won’t know for sure until the CDs are actually released or maybe this is one of those "exclusive Best Buy promotions" and it’s giving out a CD single with the purchase of YLAOM.
March 8, 2005 at 11:22 am #106464for the UK fans, amazon.co.uk has the reissues at £9.99 a piece
…+ there’s no p+p on orders over £25 …

further to that, i just checked hmv.co.uk + they have all the CDs for £9.99 each as well, but i’m not sure if they charge p + p …
March 8, 2005 at 5:08 pm #106465Insound has all 3 for $29.99
March 9, 2005 at 5:45 am #106466cool … have you ordered from them before ? are they reliable ?
March 9, 2005 at 6:07 am #106467further to that …
insound.com lists its shipping charges separately … so if you are buying all three CDs, it will be: $29.99 plus $4.97 (for 3 items via 1st class US mail)
however … merge’s shipping charges are already included in the price shown, so it’ll be $33 and that’s it …

check em out, at http://www.insound.comMarch 9, 2005 at 9:27 pm #106469i have the three cds already.
and show me the way is not one any of them.
and just like heaven is not credited as a cure song.they are awesome and amazing as to be expected.
March 9, 2005 at 11:09 pm #106470yeah all those other reissues have like a whole extra c.d. of crap…. but just to be able to restoke my c.d. collection with these hard to find gems.
March 10, 2005 at 3:21 pm #106471Not only are crucial tracks missing, but I’m not sure the chronology is right. I remember "Just Like Heaven" coming out after "Bug", so why would it be on "You’re Living" ? Does anyone know the actual order these were released? I remember seeing "Bug" in fall of 88 and not seeing "Just like heaven" (or the video) til spring 89.
As for the track list here are my thoughts
Dinosaur – I see they start it off with "Bulbs of Passion"… not a bad idea, considering it’s probably the best song on the record. However, Murph’s "schizophrenia" drum beat is cemented in my mind as the right way to start the album. Tough call. I would have liked to see some more live tracks, and how about live video from the early days? I especially would like to hear any recordings from 1986, when the band was morphing into the "Living" phase. Supposedly they performed "Cortez the killer" live (with Lee Ranaldo) – that would be amazing to hear if any recordings exist. And how about throwing on the Deep Wound 7" and early demos of tunes on later albums!
You’re living all over me – man, why’d they leave off "Show me the way"
It probably would cost them $ to license the song, and that sucks. This song is great, and Dinosaur’s version is a Great improvement over the original – they really make it their own.Bug – years ago I compiled a "Superbug" album, which I would have like to have seen. Track listing is:
01 – Throw Down (acoustic vrsn from German pressing bonus 7-inch)
02 – Freak Scene
03 – No Bones
04 – They Always Come
05 – Yeah We Know
06 – Keep The Glove
07 – Let It Ride
08 – Pond Song
09 – Budge
10 – The Post
11 – Just Like Heaven
12 – Throw Down
13 – Chunks
14 – Don’t
15 – Lotta Love
16 – The Wagon (7" version)
17 – Better Than GoneAlso many moons ago at the Ritz in NYC (july 14 1989, @ sonic youth/ mudhoney show) they screened a video for Dinosaur Jr "Yeah We Know" which was basically the song over a 60s Godzilla flick (Destroy All Monsters?), and it looked really cool. They should throw this on! Does anyone know who made this or if it is available anywhere?
In sum, I’d still buy the reissues just to hear the remastered songs and see the videos… "little fury things" is one of my top 3 favorite videos of all time…
March 10, 2005 at 3:39 pm #106472Wouldn’t it be awesome if Merge released a Dinosaur Jr rarities disc too with more live tracks and all the missing b sides. who knows, maybe if these reissues are successful enough.
i’m really looking forward to the press on these hopefully they get picked up by a whole new generation
March 10, 2005 at 5:47 pm #106473Yeah,I love the Little Fury Things video
I mentioned awhile ago that if you look closely at Lou`s bass he only has 2 strings on it
(the two middle ones)maybe it`s just my eyes but that`s what it looks like to me.Given that Lou used to have 4 strings on his acoustic a 2 string bass kinda makes sense
March 10, 2005 at 6:25 pm #106474hey…’little fury things’ video was my introduction to DinosaurJr!
i remember seein it on MTV
i finally copied the video and overplayed it to death…
that song is so cool-and the video seems to match it somehow…
love the scenes of them playin in that little room and that guy throwin that refrigerator down the hill(always wanted to do that
and that was my 1st hearing a guitarist putting the wah in back of the distorto.

I’m pretty disappointed there’s not more to the discs as well but still glad to be hearing remastered versions of the songs. I’m not sure when videos were released, I’ve never been fortunate enough to see them. I’m looking forward to them being included with the reissues which I will be preordering today!

He still does! I just saw him play in atlanta 2 days ago and he had the 4 string guitar on 1/2 of the songs…
>Little Fury Things has always been the opening track for You’re Living All Over Me
I never said it wasn’t… "Just like heaven" however I don’t think came out til "Bug". My German pressing of "Bug" has a bonus 7" with an acoustic "Throw down" on it. I am pretty sure the "just like heaven" single came out after Bug. The artwork is more like Bug as well. The b-sides ("chunks" + the electric "throw down") are awesome
