I just now registered so I could post this. I don’t have a set list, but I remember they opened with Almost Ready, and then launched into an awesome version The Wagon, which I have always considered one of their best live tunes. I’ve read some posts to the effect that there are better tunes on Beyond than Almost Ready, and I agree, but that song really makes for a rockin’ first number of a live show, in my opinion. Other songs that really impressed me: Back to Your Heart (Lou really got into the vocals), and standards like Little Fury Things, and The Lung (my personal favorite, because I love the version from the JayLouMurph bootleg).

This is the 5th Dinosaur Show I’ve attended since I started listening to them around the time Green Mind came out (that’s not including the time I saw J and The Fog with Mike Watt on bass). Unfortunately, the band is not as big down here as they are in places like the East Coast. Nevertheless, they’re generally able to draw strong crowds. When I saw them a few months ago for their reunion tour, the show was in Dallas and packed. The crowd for that show included many die-hard Dinosaur fans (including myself and my brother), and the Dallas crowd was really into the show.

Last night in Fort Worth, though, maybe it’s just me, but the crowd really seemed subdued. I chimed in on the Freak Scene chorus, but I don’t think anyone else did. In fact, I got some funny “what a dorkâ€

Thanks for the review. I’m hoping for a good crowd tonight in atlanta. I’m also really hoping to hear pick me up.
