      hey folks..can anyone tell me what hardware/software i need to rip some of my vinyl to mp3. i’m pretty tech slow, i’m not sure how to connect my stereo receiver to my PC…….

        You need a cable that goes from your soundcard (1/4 inch jack) into two male ends of the red/white audio jacks. Then you need an adaptor that is 2 female red/white audio jacks on either side (4 all together). Once you have that you should wire it like this:

        Turntable (red/white audio plugs) –> adaptor –> red/white audioplugs with 1/4 inch jack –> Soundcard

        Once this is setup you can download a program that will record the incoming signal from your computer’s soundcard. I use a program called GrooveMechanic.

        I know it’s alot to digest, if you need anything clarified ask.
