so, a good friend of mine went to see sebadoh at the troubador in LA last night. she said it was totally and insanely amazing and that, because of crowd demand, they played for about two hours until there weren’t anymore songs they could think of to play. apparently, toward the end, eric even started screaming his songs (which is something that he sadly doesn’t ever really do live).

anywho, she told me that they played some new songs (she couldn’t identify them) that eric said were from their forthcoming album "sebadoh IV." if this really happened, there’s a solid chance eric was just messing with people, but if not, that’s pretty weird and funny. i’d understand that idea if "sebadoh III" had been their last record together, but what about "sebadoh vs helmet", "rocking the forest", and "bubble & scrape"?

was anybody there? does anybody have a setlist? my friend says they played "visibly wasted" (!!!!) and that they may have played "broken love", but she’s not 100% sure.

Awesome, awesome, awesome !!! :o Sebadoh IV ! I guess it’s a joke, but with Eric you can never know… ;) I’m surprised that no recordings have surfaced so far, since Sebadoh have always been a widely taped band and are super-cool about live taping themselves (in fact, if someone is planning to tape them, I have info that you can actually ask the band for help if you have problems getting your recording gear into a venue), it’ s about time some shows show up…
