October 13, 2002 at 9:08 pm #72528I’ve tried really hard but I just can’t do it. My body just wasn’t made for doing it. I’ve spent many hours trying to do an ollie with virtually no luck. Maybe I need lessons.
October 14, 2002 at 8:07 pm #72529All of the Sk8beoarders around here are, like, 12 and 13, tweens. So I’d feel pretty damned funny learning now.
But then I see Sonic Youths 100% video and. . .
October 15, 2002 at 9:56 am #72530many hours? it takes years to perfect some things, stick with it.
October 26, 2002 at 7:15 am #72531yea, i have been skating a couple of years. Damn fun, but its not healthy for your body… Right now my ankle has been twisted for 2 weeks and i still cant skate atleast in a week or two. Well, now i have time to play guitar…
October 26, 2002 at 10:26 am #72532I used to be really into it and I still skate sometimes. Not very often though. The thing is, I don’t live in California and it rains a lot here. I’ll start again in the spring and I skate till the end of the summer or so. It is really is damn fun, though.
October 30, 2002 at 9:38 am #72533I was really into skating when I was 8 – 17. But then my knees broke down completely due to too much Tae Kwon Do and the docs gave me a no-go on all activities that is hard on the knees. It sucks, but it’s better that having porcelain knees at 24. I’ve even been arrested for skating, it was illegal to skate in Norway up to 1990 or something, don’t remember the excact year right now.. So in 89, I was 11, the police brought me home and told my mother that I was such a bad boy. Strange experience. And it felt weird being arrested for skateboarding.
November 5, 2002 at 4:30 pm #72534I believe it. Didn’t you used to have to be 18 to play pinball in Norway?
Anyway, It’s pratically illegal to skateboard around here. Haven’t seen anybody actually get arrested though.

November 6, 2002 at 2:41 am #72536Robert: Whoa, really weird. I never knew that skateboarding has been illegal in Norway! Maybe you were skating in some spot where you shouldn’t have been? Or was it really illegal to just skate around streets etc?? :/
November 6, 2002 at 11:30 am #72537Aatos,
skateboarding was illegal in Norway, everywhere. Don’t ask me why, but it was. Had to be one of the most stupid laws in the world.Malcolm,
I’ve never heard about an age limit for pinball.. but stranger things have happened.November 6, 2002 at 12:18 pm #72538i used to skate alot.
actually, hadn’t it been for skating i wouldnt have discovered dinosaur jr that early ! gotta ‘bug’ you all with a little story here
dont remember the year (maybe 1992), but i was going to the european sk8 championship in Denmark, and waiting for the bus in Oslo we were all skating around the entrance at that bus station. some brought a ghetto blaster and guess what ‘tune’ was playing? Freak Scene from the BUG album! magic. i didnt know it was dinosaur at that time. i was kinda shy i never asked the other guys what was playing. but i remembered the lyrics etc.. and as i got back home in norway i figured it all out. didnt take long before i owned all the albums.
im 27 now. havent been skating much for the last 3-4 years (alot of snowboarding for the last 10 yrs), but were getting an indoor skate park these days so i’ll catch up (you never lose the touch ).
actually.. seems like all my sk8 & snowboarding friends are dinosaur fans. cause we all got tickets for J’s show 13th december in Oslo!
goood times !

November 6, 2002 at 1:03 pm #72539similar story cerveza, first heard dino on a powell peralta video – keep the glove i think. those videos were excellent, natas, hawk, lance mountain, sean goff (the only decent UK skater of the time). Must dig them all out again.
November 6, 2002 at 1:14 pm #72540Powell Peralta, what a great company! And one of the most beautifull company names ever!
One of my favourite skate video was Public Domain, saw it tons of times. Can’t remember much of it though. Anyone remember the film where a guy ollies over a meeting car? Can’t remember which film it was, or who the skater was.November 6, 2002 at 6:43 pm #72541yeah i heard pixies as in 14 yers old in skate video then modest mouse @ 15 in skate video also.. then i just tryded search similiar artist and find all rest which i like now days even more so im like now 18 and not oldstyle digger but its good start in young age hearing cool stuff,.. its just shame many young peeps dont hear those stuff they like 1 minute 1 band then after minute other one.. ijust own so much to skate videos they have cool songs.. thou many is revival thingy shit
