anyone get this yet ? the time out reviewer wasn’t impressed, but i’d like to give it a listen …

      v/a
how soon is now ? (sore point)

strangely unsatisfying lp of smiths covers by US and UK emo bands, all sticking far too close to the originals. yourcodenameis : milo gets brownie points for their post rock take on "death of a disco dancer", + it’s nice to hear curvise sing frightfully english fare like "frankly mr shankly" in an american accent (ditto the beautiful mistake + "cemetary gates"), but where’s the mariachi version of "william"? the drum’n’bass reading of "panic"? the mournful brass band doing "pretty girls make graves"?

According to AMG the song on the ‘Charmed’ intro is by Love Spit Love:

            Quote:
Love Spit Love’s utterly clueless cover of the Smiths’ "How Soon Is Now" ranks as the worst track by far, which is quite an accomplishment in itself.
