Unfortunately, I couldn’t go last night–I was busy being dumb…
March 23, 2006 at 2:46 pm #115330I’m heading out for the show Friday night. Looking forward to it.
March 23, 2006 at 3:37 pm #115331Oh Christ, TODAY is Thursday ? I thought for sure we were Friday–Uuuugggghhhh! Double uuuughhhhhh !

March 24, 2006 at 10:28 am #115332Well, I’m sure someone enjoyed the show–just it’s not me !!!!
Enjoy the audio, Toni
March 24, 2006 at 11:20 am #115333Gotta love this promo from weeklydig.com for the Witch show tonite at the Abbey Lounge…
Quote:If you thought J Mascis was only good at growing his hair out, singing like he could use a glass of water and pummeling the tender earbones of indie weenies(LOL
)the world over, you’re right—but he sure ain’t bad at drums, neetha. He recently fused with weirdo crew Feathers to form Witch, and they’re nasty like a mouthful of bong-water-and-eye-of-newt bubble tea. Black Helicopter, Neptune and Ketman promise to make this Abbey show extra shithouse.Enjoy the show!!!

March 26, 2006 at 2:11 pm #115337A certain someone on FreesoFree.net left a message on the forum, said they taped a Witch show, hopefully up this week…
March 27, 2006 at 12:05 pm #115338I went to Thursdays in Brooklyn. The venue was changed at the last minute. Witch went on at like 12. They had some bigger amps and definately rocked harder than the first 2 times I have seen them. I got trashed and missed work the next day but it was fun.
March 27, 2006 at 8:04 pm #115339I saw them at the Iron Horse last Saturday and they were really good. They have this thick (but not ear-bleeding) kind of sound with monster riffs, brain scrambling solos and of course Mascis kicking ass behind the drumkit. The songs had really good sabbath like heavy swaying melodies and then really insane energetic schizoid parts. At the end of the show people were yelling encore but the lead singer goes "sorry thats all the songs we’ve released right now". They’re a great live band and anyone that has the chance to see them should go.
March 27, 2006 at 8:25 pm #115340I should make it to the show in Middletown – I’m going away but hopefully will be back the day before…and Wesleyan is only like a twenty minute drive from my place.

We could’ve really ripped it up
March 28, 2006 at 9:16 am #115342Folks thinking about hitting the Witch show at Wesleyan who aren’t students there should check to see if they are going to turn people away who don’t have student ID. I went there in the ’90s and depending on the venue we used to have to turn people away who didn’t have student ID — at least while the campus cops were watching…
