But on the other end its a private family matter and seems a little weird to be obsessing over. I can get behind obsessing over the music, his gear and the like but I would think its a little weird (maybe disturbing) if people were talking about my family or expected child.
I guess thats why I haven’t posted much about it, I am content to leave this topic alone.
Hm, I think Tonas is right. Hm, should I delete my post ? I am so undecided….
June 15, 2007 at 10:14 am #130092So…ditch the idea of a baby shower for J & Louisa at my place, huh? Everybody was going to be invited!
June 15, 2007 at 10:52 am #130093lol, what if J doesnt even know hes gonna be a dad? =-O

Keep your sense of humor. Make time for just you and Mommy. Trust your instincts. Things will steady out, giving you enough time to brace yourself for the teen years!Good Luck!

Btw, he’s a handsome lad!
Thanks for the advice. At the minute we’re muddling along hour by hour…. His mammy is doing really well though, which is good. He does take over EVERYTHING, and you’re right, we’ll need to remeber to keep some time for "us", elst we get really tired, cranky and lose the "magic".
"Annastefka " wrote:Awwwww, he is really cute, yes having a newborn will leave you knackered, I nursed and we kept our children in bed with us so I probably got more sleep than most because I didn’t have to wake up and "make" a bottle, I just slept with my shirt off and all of our babies would sort of find their way to the Mama’s milk. They need to be held and nursed just about every hour. I think the terrible two’s is harder for me especially with boys……….my little guy runs like "bloody hell" in what ever direction he is facing…….he climbs on everything chair, shelf, tree, table, piano, dog, his dad’s truck, the riding lawn mover, kitchen counter tops,
the washer, the dryer……….he looks for stuff "up high" that he is not supposed to have. He also likes taking everything apart to see how it works, cell phone, phone, anything……………he also likes poking everything with a stick to see what it does and putting "anything" in every little hole he can find……….I find "hot wheels" in the printer………….legos in the toliet, raisin up his nose. I really have to be on him one on one………or I’m in trouble………..so at 43, I’m also bloody knackered. With my daughters, we never had the "terrible two", now we just have PMS, which is actually way harder, doors slam, and tears flow (for NO reason, my husband and I are always caught off guard) when it is time for dinner, we get a "leave me alone" from behind a closed door. At two years old she was a perfect lady, never climbed on anything, or broke any thing, or stuck any thing in anything else………………got to keep a sense of humor.
Oh, btw, that’s my little nursey face monkey man flying through the air into his daddy’s arms.
And I thought we had our hands full now!!!
Generally, I feel a bit impotent as the wife is breasfeeding, so I’m expendable – she’s not!!
That said, I do give great cuddles, and have become quickly immune to stinky poo…!!I also think he’s cute!! But hey, I’m biased – so thanks!
June 15, 2007 at 2:36 pm #130095yeah, I agree a little with Tonas, after a congratulation, baby stuff is kind of personal. I love children and I think the world needs more children being born to loving, conscientious parents. As far as a baby shower Fata, I’m making a baby quilt for Luisa and baby, I don’t know how I will get it to her but I’ll cross that bridge later. I think it would be nice for us sort of nutty fans to shower them with gifts. Last year at old navy, I bought three halloween shirts newborn size, they were on sale for one dollar each, I have them saved in a closet somewhere, they are soooo cute, I’m going to throw one of those in. I doubt this baby will be lacking when it comes to gifts. Although, if anyone out there has not yet had a baby and need ideas, one can never have enough baby socks, and little natural soaps/shampoos and calendula creams from the health food store, and since they are vegetarian and follow Amma, I think some nice little organic unbleached cotton "onesies" and sleepers would be cool. Ahhh, my first pregnancy was so exciting, so special……….almost magical. Well, enough said!
June 15, 2007 at 3:34 pm #130096I agree with the person who said this should be a private matter. But that doesn’t change the fact that I’m happy for the two of them… they seem like good people, and having people on this group wish good things for them seems ok… to me. This board seems generally cool… hopefullly no one will be creepy.
Dunno, that’s just my two cents. If they want it to be "public" they’ll talk about it, (as Lou did) but generally speaking I feel that J’s fans are very respective of his privacy. Hopefully it remains that way.

June 15, 2007 at 4:36 pm #130098Don’t get me wrong, I’m super happy for J and his wife. Its definately an exciting time in their lives. I just think that should be the extent of it. No guessing the childs name or making suggestions, as that is very personal type stuff. If it were me I would be a little weirded out that people were obsessing over it, and taking such interest in it. Unless J and his family ask for it, then I thinks its just better left alone.
June 15, 2007 at 5:23 pm #130099I agree with tonas. (However, "K Mascis" is a good suggestion. I like "Jr Mascis," too. I’ll stop now…)
June 16, 2007 at 3:13 pm #130100When Hannelore Barlow was a little baby, I made her a onesie with the Dinosaur cover ironed on. Lou said "you forgot to remove the "Jr."

I should have gotten a photo.

Annastefka …. re: your girls … I’m sure Lou is loving the no-climbing/no-running/no-sticking-things-where-they-don’t-belong terrible twos but I guessing he’ll be going bloody mad at age 55 when Hanny is 16, dating and PMSing herself
I’d add learning to drive as well but by then, the driving age in Cali will probably be 21 or something.June 16, 2007 at 4:04 pm #130101Wheh? Lou has a child? Cool
June 17, 2007 at 9:07 am #130102This is brilliant news … Congratulations J and Luisa …

I wonder if this will add another dimension to J’s music?
June 17, 2007 at 9:45 am #130103Further to that, I’m rooting (sp) for 2nd October – my birthday
June 17, 2007 at 10:56 am #130104I’m hoping for October 19
June 17, 2007 at 11:05 am #130105I’m hoping 31st
