Well, we said we were going to refrain from this kind of personal stuff like names and such but now that you brought it up, it reminded me, my sisters husband, is named after his Father and Grandfather, he is James Edward the third, and being the third, he was nicknamed "Trip" as a child, which is a common nickname for the third child , I have not heard this except in the South, but I imagine that it is an all over thing. If J has a boy, he could name the child after him and he would be a "Trip" which is only funny because of the above story.

I must say, I am very proud that J, after being hit, he took a few minutes off to take a breather and then came back and finished the show. That took a lot of "just letting it go", I would imagine, that he had to process in a very short amount of time, who knows, but he obviously decided to "roll with the punches" ……………I try to put myself in his place……..the mom in me would have come out I think, and I could see myself jumping into the crowd and asking "who the hell threw the beer can at my head"…………..that person would have been ratted out, and then I imagine myself grabbing them by the back of their clothing and walking them to the front door, having someone open the door for me, and saying "fucking time out for you for the rest of the night jerk"………….and tossing them into the street. One can at least have the fantasy.

Yeah, I understand what you’re going through, Annastefka. Shaky relationships and stupid court things suck. They usually suck on a regular basis. I hope things get better for you. Or us 3.

I’ve just gone through the weirdest months of my life. I can’t do fuck all right now–I can’t even work properly. My mind is just blown. I can’t really take time off work but that’s all I want to do. I want to wander and do my thing–even though I may have no thing left to do. Life just sucks. In French, there’s a saying: "J’sais plus sur quel pied danser." (I don’t know my right foot from my left…)

I once had a bad trip on pot cake. I thought I was going to die. I was surprised I woke up alive. My heart started racing just like your friend’s, the room closed in…. Another chick who was staying at our place once OD’d on this fucking pot cake shit. I had to call the ambulence. She also puked her guts out on the living room floor. ‘shrooms were good, once. Well, when I learned what not to take them with (like alcohol) and in small amounts. My friend gave them to me as a going away present. I had a dream about him the other day. It was strange and sad. Today is a really sad day for me. Fucked up and sad. :(

Oh yeah, if I had kids, I’d make them watch The Hilarious House of Frightenstein  Love that show ;D My mom started getting me into it. And now, when I go over we watch it together all the time. I love my mom. :)

It is getting out of hand, you are just right. :)

What gifts does the baby want?

I think they should get a free bodhi tree.

Freakscene in general can be considered out of hand.

Anyway, Fata, you reminded me, now with youtube and sites like tv-links the genie is really out of the bottle with my kids.
After hearing that J liked the Gilmore Girls we found a link to it and I watched the first three episodes with my girls, we loved it!
I feel so crazy now trying to play catch up with TV……………….and the whole reason we got rid of it is that we didn’t want the children "hooked"………………if you can get kids through the first seven years………..seven is when the damage is done so to speak………or in other words what you have is what you got………….we would have gone on and on without but the computer through a wrench into our plans and then I discovered TV that I liked……………..I hate it and love it at the same time.

What I like watching with my older kids is ""The Mighty Boosh" Oh, my Gosh, it’s awesome fun. The Yeti episode is about the guys going camping……………..I love it! My favorite line in the show is "clothes avalanche" if you haven’t gotten into it, check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpXZ5HmesRU SpXZ5HmesRU Pee-Wees play house meets, I don’t know some weird sit-com.
Vince and Naboo are brothers in real life.

Why can’t it be a girl? Lou already has one in the teen age, who sings to all his songs at the show. LOL J doesn’t. ;)

I found a birds eye view into the "girls mushroom adventure" and a sample of the kind of quilts I make.

Thanks be to Karen a great artist herself ……….who taught me more than just some sewing techniques.

I love this photo, there’s so much going on in that visual quilt.

This baby news is news to me– congratulations J & L! I’m rooting for a little Mascis girl :D I envision a holstein-themed nursery and lots of electric bedtime lullabies.

Regarding all the circumcision (genital mutilation) business, my understanding is that the U.S. is responsible for something like 80% of circumcisions worldwide, and more and more American parents are getting hip to the fact that it is totally unnecessary. I don’t plan on birthing any kids in this lifetime but if I did, no one would be coming near any of their privates with a scalpel just because someone happened to think "it looks better" or "we want him to look the same in the locker room" or "I was cut so my kid should be cut too." I’m honestly surprised to see that so many freaksceners think that some stupid social norm should be preserved just because "that’s the way it’s done."

Also, keep in mind that people will generally prefer what they’re accustomed to– so if you ask American women, who’ve seen nothing but circumcised men, what they like, they’ll tell you "cut." But in Europe and most other places, they’ll answer "uncut." It generally comes down to exposure (no pun intended), education, and how receptive people are to change.

And Stefka, my mom did natural childbirth with midwives both times– you guys are so tough and smart! I am proud! How do people forget that babies have been coming out of va-jay-jays for thousands of years? The medicalization of childbirth is a whole other issue I could blab about for days…
