Hope you’ve checked out some earlier Hellacopters releases, my fav’s are Supershitty to the Max, Grande Rock & Payin The Dues. Lots of great early eps as well…White Trash Soul, Disappointment Blues etc etc.
I haven’t been able to listen to Carry me home since I saw the video, it absolutely killed it for me!

December 13, 2005 at 7:36 pm #78315Ya know, I’ve been meaning to pick your brain about them; you seem l ike your really into these guys. I’d never heard a note of theirs them until I started visiting this forum and saw alot of gushing about them. I picked up By the Grace of God at random cause I wanted to get em a shot. But alas, I’m having probs getting a whole lot out of the disk: By the Grace of God and Carry Me Home are two winners but, the rest of the album seems super derivitive to me.
However, I’m not giving up just yet! I just ordered High Visibility and will give it a spin in a couple days. I’d ask you what you recommend but, you’ve already done that. Thanks!Rush- The Trees

I think you’ll enjoy High Visibility, very pleasing Hellacopters album. I’m not a huge fan of the last couple Hellacopters, some good songs but not enough. I actually prefer the Strikes Like Lightening ep that used leftover material from R & Roll is dead better than the album…
As far as derivitive…they wear their influences well, shows in the covers they do by Radio Birdman, Motorhead, Damned, Smokey Robinson, Stooges, Stones, Roky Erickson, Love, MC5, Sonics Rendezvous Band and more. Nick Royale has some pleasing solo stuff out, also has a soul project called The Solution with Scott Morgan from Sonics Rendezvous Band, playing drums versus guitar.
