Robert, I sent those MP3’s. If you have questions just holla.
No need for a medal I just want to help out the band anyway I could.
March 4, 2009 at 1:21 am #133700I’m listening to them and smiling all over the place, thanks for sharing !
Did you get a once in a lifetime sorta feeling going ?
Are you able to lsiten to it and go Oh, cool, that’s my guitar right there ?March 4, 2009 at 9:11 am #133701Yeah that whole situation was weird. My friend told me he won tickets to play with Weezer and he wanted me to come with him. I had 2 days to learn those 6 songs. It was pretty cool I guess. At one point we were getting ready to play Say It Aint So, and you know the part in the chorus w/ the guitar bend right before he says "Say it aint so". Rivers wasn’t happy that with all those acoustic guitars and horns and such that no one could replicate that bend. He tried to explain it but no one was catching on. So I just started playing it and rocking out in front of everyone. Then Rivers yelled in the microphone "Hey what’s you r name?" I told him it was Tony, and he replied "Everyone, Tony is going to teach you how to play Say It Aint So, listen to his guitar and try to copy what he plays". So in front of everyone I got to have my own moment with Rivers Cuomo. I was most stoked about that and thats what I remember most.
Like I said afterward Brian Bell told me I payed really well, and I saw Rivers again as he was getting into his car. He remembered my name and said bye.
Yeah it’s totally a once in a lifetime thing. I’ll never forget it.
March 4, 2009 at 9:47 am #133702Hey Robert, have you heard of a band called Mew? I stumbled across them on iTunes last night and was wondering if you were familiar with them. I think they are from Denmark.

Thanks a lot for showing up in our time of need Salami

I was certain your abscence from fs was 1 of the 7 signs that armageddon is approaching.
Now I can finally throw away my comfort blanket.March 4, 2009 at 2:11 pm #133707"tonas" wrote:Then Rivers yelled in the microphone "Hey what’s you r name?" What a great story, and huge props for not shitting your pants !I’m kinda familier with Mew, I trust you know that J produced one of their albums ? And played some guitar.
When I come to think about it, I’m not sure he produced the entire album.
I wonder how that came to happen.March 4, 2009 at 3:47 pm #133708"essgee09 wrote:Thanks

Now I can finally throw away my comfort blanket.I wish Allison and Bucky and Spaceboy would come back though
and Rosa too,I wonder if she bought any Lionel Hampton records I suggested to her.March 4, 2009 at 5:58 pm #133710"Robert" wrote:I’m kinda familier with Mew, I trust you know that J produced one of their albums ? And played some guitar.

I wonder how that came to happen.I didn’t know he produced one of their albums. I stumbled across them in iTunes searching for J Mascis stuff. I bought 2 albums of theirs today and am listening to them right now. So far I like the upbeat tempo of their songs and I like the guitars too. I’ll have to look into it more to see if J produced one of the albums I bought.
March 4, 2009 at 6:06 pm #133711On another note, seriously thanks Robert and SG for rolling up again. I am having a blast on the boards these past few days. Kind of how it used to be……..

What a great story, and huge props for not shitting your pants !I forgot to mention that after the jam I got Rivers to sign my Alone CD booklet, and Brian Bell & Scott Shriner signed my Red album CD cover. It was pretty epic in hindsight.

That`s a fan vid,not made by Neko herself. The clips are`nt from Tacoma but they suit the song.My hometown is a steel town,i think alot of people can relate to the song even if they`re not from Tacoma.
