April 13, 2005 at 5:24 pm #108580without a doubt there are only two possibilities
1. furry with a spelling mistake
2. J making a play on words since the song talks about both fury (rage) and furry (rabbits)April 13, 2005 at 6:52 pm #108581"My mom organized the show. What was meant to happen was my band Sebadoh was supposed to play, and then J was gonna play after us, like acoustic, and then Sonic Youth. But leading up to the show, my mom started giving me these annoying phone calls, like, ‘Lou, you know, it would be really, really nice if you and J played together… Maybe there could be a Dinosaur reunion…’ And I’m like, ‘Mom, there can’t be, it’s just impossible. There’s no way that’s gonna happen.’ But the show went on, and it was at this big place, and it was totally packed. And while J did his solo acoustic thing, the two other members of Deep Wound were also backstage, and basically someone was running around going, ‘Come on, you guys! You’ve gotta do this!’ And we just really brainstormed, like, ‘What could we do so that as J’s walking offstage we just tell him to go sit behind the drums and play a song?’ It took us like ten, twenty minutes, and finally – ‘Ah!’ – we had one song that, like, had four chords, a mid-tempo punk song…and as J was coming off we’re like, ‘We’re gonna play ‘Video Prick’!’ And J went right behind Steve Shelley’s drums, and immediately kicked into the beginning of the song, and it was great!"
"It was alright," Mascis mumbles, when asked. "Maybe we need to take Lou’s mom on the road [with Dinosaur Jr], just to keep things together."
OMG! LMFAO!
April 14, 2005 at 9:51 am #108582Quote:surely he must get a good amount of money in royalty checks from his dinosaur years …Har. that’s even funnier than taking Lou’s mom on tour !!

April 15, 2005 at 5:49 am #108585thanks!
sorry, i didn’t mean to have been so intrusive
… and i guess i wasn’t expecting a reply …
i guess what i was trying to say was lou seems a very together type person and also very successful at what he does, so i was suprised to hear him complaining about being hard up for money and lacking in medical insurance … but i’ll leave it there i think …
April 15, 2005 at 10:57 am #108586no problem

I’m just a friend of Kath & Lou and I certainly don’t have the complete picture of their finances so I guess all I can do is tell everyone to make sure they contribute to the Hannelore Barlow College Fund

Now if only I could get a hold of Kath to see if it’s cool to fly out for the show …
April 15, 2005 at 11:38 am #108587i hope you do get to go …
+ if you do you’ll have to be sure to tell us all about it ! …

June 2, 2005 at 8:42 pm #108590Well, i wouldn’t want to "kiss and tell" , but, i do know him, and he really is doing great. He was so excited about the tour and everything the past couple weeks, i’m sure he’s having a blast….
June 3, 2005 at 7:07 am #108591Murph is an old friend. When I was in LA he seemed great. Big hugs and stuff. He couldn’t believe I flew out to LA from Boston to see them. This could be just what the doctor ordered for Murph. And although J likes to keep his cards close to his chest, I know he’s psyched about the tour. I don’t know Lou that well, but he’s always been really cool to me, and he seemed really happy about being back in Dino when I saw them in LA. Good times.
June 3, 2005 at 9:07 am #108592Thanks Ray, for sharing the sweet insight.
