Yeah, Staingrrl, that pairing is odd, philosophically, yet Al was such the collaborator. Wish he would hook us up with some more RevCo. He also got together with Jello Biafra for the Power of Lard album by Lard.
Here is an odd interview setup I found last night:
world.conk.com.world/vreject/interviews.html
In it you have Ian Mckaye, Penelope Houston from the Avengers, Exene Cervenka, and Al Quint from the original Boston hardcore scene (any info tying to J would be nice) all discussing questions about punk rock as this or that. Very well done, I’d say. The link may need cut and paste to work, if still nothing, lemme know.[ 06-02-2002, 05:49 AM: Message edited by: Half-Man ]

i ‘member being totally freeked as a wee little girl when david bowie made out with himself on the bing crosby holiday special, oh my (insert your deity or NOT here) like my childhood was not confusing enough gotta add to my little brain all this complicated ambiguous gender shit to make sense of and the other strange thing ya know whatever that warm squishyfeeling down there might be?
yes i am listening to cuban music but hearing the replacements in my head androgynous…
uh, to the topic at hand.
i ‘member a song by elvis costello and one of the fellows in hall and oates(daryl hall mebbe) and it was cool, but i cain’t ‘member rightly?[ 07-05-2002, 05:53 PM: Message edited by: sarsaparilly ]
July 5, 2002 at 9:03 pm #70438Michael Des Barres who later joined that synth pop outfit, Power Station, had a band for a while with Steve Jones, former Sex Pistol. I guess Michael was more Alice-Cooper punky in his youth.
July 5, 2002 at 9:07 pm #70439oh, i forgot that extremely weird one that ended up working really well…aerosmith and run-DMC on "walk this way"…strange pairing ended up being better than the original.

Jello Biafra singing a Willie Nelson song L7 teaming up with Waylon Jennings they say Dino is on it,but is`nt in the track listing,I think J plays drums on the Mark Lanegen song is what they mean.
July 8, 2002 at 3:15 pm #70442I thought up another strange thing I read on another msg board,Nick Drake`s sister was in a soap opera in the 70`s called Crossroads,I don`t think it aired in Canada so I don`t think I saw it,did anyone ever see this or heard before about this?it seems weird with Nick being an introspective songwriter that his sister was a soap actress
July 14, 2002 at 11:45 am #70443Some more strange things in music:Deep Purple`s debut album was on Bill Cosby`s record label
Ever heard of Ian and Sylvia Tyson, the 60`s folk singers from Canada?their first album had a bass player on it named Bill Lee,who is Spike Lee`s father
Jimi Hendrix recorded for Reprise Records, which was originally owned by Frank Sinatra -
