I was just sitting here listening to a live version of ‘Yellow Ledbetter’, and thinking that it’s probably the perfect song to listen to when the weather is beautiful & warm.
Others, for me, that I associate with summer:
– Doors, ‘Roadhouse Blues’
– Van Morrison, ‘Moondance’
– Reverend Horton Heat, ‘In Your Wildest Dreams’
– Method Man & D’Angelo, ‘Makeups 2 Breakups’
– Allman Brothers, the entire Fillmore East album
– Southern Culture on the Skids, ‘Soul City’
– Aaliyah, ‘Hot Like Fire’
– Animals, ‘Inside Looking Out’
– Yo La Tengo, ‘Spec Bebop’
– Henry Mancini, ‘Peter Gunn’
– Heart, ‘Crazy on You’
– Red Hot Chili Peppers, ‘Apache Rose Peacock’
– and last, at least on this installment, Kid Rock, ‘Cowboy’ <img>Submissions welcome.

Nice to have you back of late. My ex was a massive Pearlette ™ and the only song I could listen to was the live version of ledbetter. no idea what it is about though.
And Jaron – if it was your board, do you really think there would be this many members?
July 24, 2002 at 10:41 am #70724I did a summer albums thread awhile back, some songs were mentioned too:

Definitely agree on the Allman`s Filmore Album,my tape is getting old,it`s one of those double albums on 1 cassette thing that does`nt play too well.
Some more songs:
Stevie Ray Vaughan-Riviera Paradise
Janis Joplin-Summertime
The Who-Summertime Blues
Versus-Radar Follows You
Spinanes-Eleganza
Bettie Serveert-Sundazed To The Core
Sparklehorse-Cruel Sun
Miles Davis-Once Upon A Summertime
Charles Mingus-anything from Tijuana Moods
Stan Getz/Charlie Byrd-anything from the Jazz Samba albumJuly 24, 2002 at 3:15 pm #70725Hey Salami,

July 24, 2002 at 5:33 pm #70729Surf Wax America–Weezer
Echos Myron–GbV (which has been stuck in my head since Sunday)
Heavy Metal Drummer–Wilco
also Tom Petty & CCR, doesn’t really matter what songs in particular.July 26, 2002 at 11:39 pm #70730Hey Rosa,
Your mention of the Doors’ Roadhouse Blues instantly triggered one of my favorite summer songs to listen to – LA Woman. Driving down the road with your windows rolled down and this song blaring definitely has that summer feeling. -
