Here’s a list with bands who had better quit the musicbusiness after a certain album instead of making more albums

Dinosaur Jr is mentioned with Bug

it´s obvious that dinosaur jr sounded different after bug. Would they be satisfied if dinosaur jr changed name to j mascis and the fog already back then?

Dino sounded better after Bug. Where you been is my favorite.

And I still don’t here the difference between Dinosaur Jr. and the Fog.

I gotta agree with Malcolm on this one, Dinosaur post-Bug is better than pre.
I love all the albums, but I think the first few are fairly flawed (definitely the one’s featuring Lou Barlow). It’s not till Bug & Green Mind that J’s song-writing and guitar work really start to mature, and he starts making complete albums.
Hand It Over was a good place to stop being Dinosaur cos it is without a doubt the finest Dinosaur Jr album. Go out on a high, man.

But you should. Listen to Without a Sound, that is. It’s one of the most underrated albums ever. With superior lyrics:

"Figures. I don’t get to meet you.
I know. Whatever. It’s still the same."

Same for Where You Been. I still have trouble seeing how some people can not think it is one of the best albums ever. Who are these people? How can they listen to the opening solo of "Out There" without trembling in awe? I don’t get it.
