Reading Tonas talking about the Seattle scene got me thinking about local music scenes. So what band and/or album from your part of the world would you say best repesents where you live?

Mine would be Eric`s Trip. They were from the next province from me in Canada. They got signed to Sub Pop when SP had a roster of mostly american bands obviously being an american label. They did 3 albums for SP before breaking up.The first album Love Tara(1993) is their finest.I think it says alot about living in Canada and especially this part of Canada, the east coast. When I listen to it I picture snowbanks and cold winter weather and admire the DIY spirit of Eric`s Trip.

Yeah back in the day around here I would have to say Mudhoney~Mudhoney. That album (for me) signified an era, flannel shirts, musty clubs, cold nights, and fucking great music.

This is something I haven’t listened to in a while. I knew a boy in Hamiliton who turned me on to Eric’s Trip. Now I’m going to dig them up and give them a listen. :) I’m allergic to love…

Sadly Phish pretty much sums up Vermont.

Hahaha… sadly, most people around here would think so.

That reminds me… I was once having a discussion about the Boston-area music scene, and somebody actually told me that "no good bands have ever come out of Massachusetts." What?!?! Hmmmmm… DJ, Pixies, Buffalo Tom, Blake Babies, Lemonheads, Mission of Burma, Letters to Cleo, Throwing Muses… yeah, nobody ever came out of Boston. ::)
