Indiana Reaches Agreement with Miss Cleo’s Psychic Hotline(Indianapolis-AP) — The company that represents self-proclaimed telephone psychic Miss Cleo has agreed to forgive more than 3.3 million dollars owed to it by Indiana residents who called a 900-number hot line.
Attorney General Steve Carter said Tuesday that Access Resource Services, Incorporated also agreed to pay the state for its investigative costs.
The agreement resolves a lawsuit filed in March. The lawsuit accuses Florida-based Access Resource Services of misrepresenting services by offering the first three minutes free on a psychic 900-number hot line.
Customers said they found themselves waiting to speak with a psychic for most of the free period.
An attorney who represents Access Resource Services noted the agreement includes no admission of wrongdoing on the part of the company.
