      Okay, I was bored and I love this song so I’ve done my own version of the tab. It is by no means perfect but, once again, I’m but a lowly bass player. I’ve got a rough bass tab done and the solo but they need work so I’ll post them later. Anyway, enjoy. :)

      The Lung

Tempo is somewhere between 170 and 180bmp, just have fun with it

Intro

Roughly strum an E minor for 2 bars

Basically just play around with Fadd9 and Am/F for 3 bars

You’ll know the score anyway but repeat the whole thing three times. Then go to the Fadd9 section, play the first three bars and on the forth bar replace the little riff with a whammy dive

This is the really fun part. For the last two bars J violently strums the Em/C chord. I think it was most likely just eighths on the record but live he’s definitely playing sixteenths. Just be rough and go with the flow.

So the verse riff starts on the last bar of the previous part (i.e. the open G). You probably know the rhythm so I won’t patronise you, basically it’s G, D, then variations on C. I’ve tabbed it anyway.

Play that twice, the vocals start. Play the verse 4 times, solo, play another four times and then kick into the outro.

If you want to just improv the solo I’m pretty sure it’s simply G Major.

Outro

To clarify: I am aware this section wrong. I had some difficulty trying to tab it and therefore thought I’d put my take on it. I have a feeling J is playing a Fadd9 on the 7th fret but this works alright.

Then let loose. First play a basic open A rapidly for 2 bars and then you’re playing an A rooted on the D string at the 14th fret.

              yeah your tabs are really solid maybe we could try and improve some other ones…yeah any bass tabs would be great :)

                  I was always aware the outro was wrong (and probably most of the rest of the stuff but… meh) and I watched them play the song live so I did a bit of a rehash of the outro.
