I’m sorry if this becomes unintelligable, I’m writing it at 1:01 in the morning after an evening out.

The reason I’m writing this particular malcom report is because I’m slowley going insane. My parents are currently in SC visiting brother #1 and his kid. The result is severe lonliness, punctuated by friends visiting.

Wednesday was movie night. Had a bunch of people over, ate pinapple mushroom pizza, watched Office Space, Fight Club, and most of Harold and Maude (possibly my favorite movie). Unfortunately Harold and Maude is more of a small group movie, it’s so dialogue intensive.

The real issue here, though, is last nite. I went with a friend (who’s also a guitarist in my newly formed band, Canadian Girlfriend [discussion question, do Canadians claim to have American girlfriends?]) to his girlfriend’s (who happens to be a coworker) house. The night itself was fun, they’d gone across the river to buy big illegal fireworks, and we were shooting them off (I even got to tape and ex’s picture to a few ) we also watched a REALLY REALLY bad version of Sinbad.

But what I feel like talking about was the ride home. My friend seems to think that his girlfriend has a crush on me. He has two rather good reasons to suspect this.

1)There was more social discourse between Herself and Myself throughout the night.

2) Apparently she used to like me.

To add gas to the fire, My friend complained that every girl he ever talks to used to like me. I never knew I was such a sex symbol. I get the impression he’s feeling like a second rate Malcom. I’m rather terrified this will turn into a real issue.

In my defense,

1) my friend is the type of chap who is rather akward in situations of social discourse. He is schooled in "yeah," "naw," and "okay".

2) most of the topics turned towards the library. This is my fault, I tried to steer it away regularly. But it came back.

There should be more to say, but I have to get up tomorow.

dear evil malkie,
i reckon ya already figured it out, huh?
so simply let your friend know YOU are not not not interested in his girl EVER (you respect him and her too much for that bullshit) and let him deal with his social dysfunction knowing he does not have to worry about you ACTIVELY stealin’ his girl. i know it is SUCH a burden for you being brilliant and intriguing (your phrase was sex symbol) and highly functioning and all but it is your burden darling, cuz you is so damn smart and charming. deal with it. oh and listen to some violent femmes it should cool ya down.

Hey Malcom,

Just how much riboflavin have you been doing

Strange end to the nite, gotta love taping the ex ‘s pic to fireworks…

He’s your friend, guy in your band, you work with her…sounds like three strikes to me

Love Harold & Maude, J once said that movie best described his family/youth

Well, the thing that had me worried is that these two have never exactly been all over each other. I’m not saying that all couples are or should be like that, but you never seem to catch them smooching or anything. It all seems to odd.

And threesomes are all around bad ideas. period.

Sounds like a good one, sarsa.

Your evil Malc reports rule, dude. If your buddy isn’t all that social, I would bet his girl is flirting with you to get him to make any kind of reaction. Some girls (esp. late teen/early 20’s) like drama, and create it themselves for no reason when bored. Seen it many times, don’t lose a mate over it! Maybe I’m wrong, though…

Um. . . Deepsludge, Mary Kate and Ashley are mearly muppets. You seen the Dark Crystal and Laberith? This is the newest, most realistic leval of animatronics yet.

And RBB, THANKS! I don’t get that much feedback on these things, but then I write them more for myself than anything else.

I agree with RBB on both counts, sounds like a great thread S, and that people sometimes do the drama thing out of boredom…their id’s are not alright

Love the Malcom reports as well…even if its mostly writen just for you.

But I gotta ask, who is in the more stable relationship?

Is it :

A) the couple that seems to be more "good friends" than anything

or:

B) the couple that seem to be symbiotically connected.

what is a stable relationship and why does everybody claim to want one so much but at the same time remain completely unwilling to put in the effort or passion necessary to make that relationship survive? i am so tired of all the selfish people out here in the cruel world wearing blinders focused only own their own limited view not knowing or stopping to consider we might all be connected, how can anyone truly believe him/herself enlightened and see so little of what is happening all around them?
who defines stable? who defines happy? who defines good/evil? i do not want that responsibility.
peace? anarchy? i am fuckin’ angry, thanks malkie got me all riled up

Decorum!
The United Nations doesn’t permit people to answer questions with questions. It’s a good idea. A stable relationship is one of those concepts that most people understand. I consider it what everybody wants people to think their relationship. Two people who actually do exclusivly love each other and tell each other everything (no secret crushes on the side)

And I want people to get a bit riled, too much relying on the same old topics ’round here

I think you want to see things that way. No, I’m not symbiotic with her. When I wrote of couples beiong symbiotic I was referring to those couples who are always all over each other. I’m not interested in my friends girl, that’s one of those things even I wouldn’t do. My books, I dunno. I just find people entertaining and this is an extension of that. Sex has been covered to the point that any question can be answered. But dating seems to be rather sketchy.

And this could turn into an issue without any help from me.

But do you think, as a whole, those are more stable couples? Or do you think their opposite (the type of couple that acts more like good friends) is?

This should be a good time for me to recognize that all couples have their own way of showing affection. But I’m wondering whom you think really seems to be happier.

full disclaimer this is simply my opinion, not to be taken seriously. and i have not been awake fer long, coupla hours and i cacacain’t drink coffee cuz i am allergic. and my heart is ache ache aching.
ok malcontent, if you ask which couple appears happier or IN LOVE or just comfy ,i dunno depends on the unique personality/psychology/rapport/functionality of the 2 folks in the couple but i will tell ya who i envy the most…
the ones all the fuck all fuckin’ over each other. but like sludgie i totally do not want to actually SEE it in public, get it, i do not want to bear witness to their glory, i am not into spectator sports so much, except lawn darts. but to actually be an active participant in that ridiculous passion, to be an integral part of those two who know, somehow, that like noone else exists, and the world simply revolves around just the two of you and you are the center of all the good happy stuff. yea for you. lucky shits, hope it lasts, do i seem bitter? i am only jealous… i want to know that, the wonder of it, mebbe in the kitchen or, downcellar, in the woods, under the table at a restaraunt, at the movies, beneath the blanket watching fireworks or the stars shine or in the screen room away from the ‘squitos..
i need a swim.
later dudes
